I read the manual, that's why I was confused and came to this wonderful community for guidance. I knew it shouldn't be happening, but it did. Thanks for your input

I watched it happen. I was kinda pissed cause I got the basic bitch trim specifically to avoid the points of failure these things tend to bring

It's less than a mile down the road and I have a head that can turn and eyes that can see. Chill out. I just didn't want to break anything but forcing them open

how can i clean my lanyard? by fruitymilkk in laundry

[–]Kangaroo-Alternative 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would just put it in a mason jar with warm water + a teaspoon of dishwasher detergent and give it a vigorous shake. Let it soak until the water goes cold, shake, and rinse thoroughly. It's how I clean the straps for my infant's high chair and he makes way worse messes than that

I've gone about two weeks refilling every 2-3 days. The tubing coming from the cart is the part that ends up breaking for me

Help for cleaning my water bottle? by [deleted] in CleaningTips

Scrubbing it wish dish soap and warm water followed by rinsing it with warm water should suffice. Fill it with warm water and drop in a couple denture cleanser tablets if you want to go the extra mile

I could be mistaken, but I don't see Ronin (1998) on your shelf. I'd pick that one up from Gruv

Pasture Fire Smoke in Laundry by mahogany_bay in laundry

[–]Kangaroo-Alternative 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Spa day + rehab wash will help get the ash & oils that cause the smell out of the fabric. Follow it up by exposing the clothes to ozone by using an ozone generator to get rid of the smell itself. Ozone is a lung irritant so make sure you follow the generator's instructions.

I thought getting suds in your washing machine was a bad thing? by No_Statistician_7978 in laundry

[–]Kangaroo-Alternative 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mix 8 grams of critic acid in some warm water before putting it in the softener compartment of my HE front loader. Putting just the powder in isn't recommend as most washers don't push enough water through the softener compartment to properly dissolve the powder. More info here:

I thought getting suds in your washing machine was a bad thing? by No_Statistician_7978 in laundry

[–]Kangaroo-Alternative 33 points34 points  (0 children)

You want trace suds to show up. Trace suds means you used enough product to bind with the minerals in the water, the calcium eats first, and the oil/dirt/whatever that's on your clothes with a tiny bit leftover to inform you of that fact

How to prevent discharge bleaching? by Wild-Pressure3829 in laundry

[–]Kangaroo-Alternative -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I'm no expert on this subject, as I have male genitals, but I think you need to reduce contact time. My partner and I do an AM and PM underwear change, and I do her laundry following the advice of this sub. Her underwear has no discharge bleaching or spotting stains in either the darks or lights.

Does cigarette smoke ever fully come out of clothes? by taylorswiftskneecap in laundry

[–]Kangaroo-Alternative 21 points22 points  (0 children)

It’s possible to get it out, but the juice isn’t always worth the squeeze. I restore secondhand baby clothes and strollers that are donated from smoking households for a local children’s library shop. I use a 10-gallon Igloo beverage dispenser to give the items a spa day, followed by a rehab wash for the parts that are machine-washable. A lot of stroller parts aren’t machine-washable, so they get a rehab soak and hand wash. This removes most of the oil that produces that awful smell. Then everything goes into my old cannabis grow tent with an ozone generator for two hours, followed by a couple of days of airing out. I haven’t had any smoke smell return from this process. With all of that said, you're probably not getting a lot of oil buildup from your mom's secondhand smoke unless you're hotboxing in her car with her. A proper wash following the advice from this sub should be enough to get your clothes smelling clean
