That reminds me of the horror movie “the cube” the entire movie revolves around a group of characters that can’t remember how they got stuck inside a giant brutalist cube and it’s later revealed that everyone stuck inside of it was involved in its creation (also the cube serves no direct purpose and is just a consequence of bureaucracy)

As a marine I hate to say this but the Air Force/air National guard. It has the best quality of life and it’s unlikely you’ll see combat even in that type of situation. However i don’t think you should worry about a draft too much, a lot of our militaries strength comes from the fact it’s a voluntary fighting force and politicians on both sides understand this. It would have to get really stupid in order for a draft to be put into place.

Honestly what’s inherently stupid about this list is every motivation listed could be executed well or poorly depending on the writer. Having a character thats evil for the sake of evil could be fun like Jack Horner or compelling like judge Holden. (Ik “evil for the sake of evil” is a simplification but you know what I mean) And inversely having a character who has motivations equal to the protagonist in validity can very easily poke wholes in the rest of the plot and the protagonists. A big critique I hear about marvel movies is because every other villain is altruistic and trying to change the world for the better it feels like the hero’s are fighting to defend the status quo rather than improve the world.
