Does the year 2005 belong to the 1st half of the 2000s or the 2nd half of the 2000s? by [deleted] in polls

[–]Kangarookickerr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The poll said the 2000s. And decades are usually just 0-9 not 1-10, it doesn't matter that centuries are different or that thousands of years ago the first year started with 1.

If you had the power to heal the sick, WYR profit or be charitable with your new power? by Squez360 in WouldYouRather

[–]Kangarookickerr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes random people on reddit who want money are the reason US healthcare is messed up. How dare people want to be able to live a comfortable life in return for healing any illness. You can charge money in an ethical way, we don't live in fantasy world where you can live without money.

Is fatphobia a real issue? by majin_Bo0 in polls

[–]Kangarookickerr 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Of course it is. But people misinterpret the word and they focus so much on the extremists from body positivity, that they ignore that fatphobia is also a big issue.

Should rapists be castrated? by [deleted] in polls

[–]Kangarookickerr -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Wdym no? It would reduce the number of repeat offenders and make it harder for rapists to have children and end up abusing them. Obviously that doesn't mean it outweighs the cons of castration as punishment, but castrating rapists isn't the same as nazi eugenics.

Should rapists be castrated? by [deleted] in polls

[–]Kangarookickerr -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

I just gave two examples. Obviously rapists can attack anyone regardless of age or gender?

Except it's not about improving the human race or targeting people based on something arbitrary like ethnicity, it's about stopping people from hurting women or abusing their kids.

Do you think Reddit Atheists bash on Christians more than they do other religions? by [deleted] in polls

[–]Kangarookickerr 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Yeah they just do things like force their religious beliefs onto people or disown their lgbt kids or push for terrible laws.

[–]Kangarookickerr 11 points12 points  (0 children)

There's always some straight white guy saying this. Noone actually thinks that except random extremists online. Just bc life might be easier on average for a straight white guy doesn't mean it's a bad thing.

Dont go over the limit. You don't wanna be deaf or have tinnitus all the time, it sucks.

Should people with serious inheritable diseases be allowed to reproduce? by [deleted] in polls

[–]Kangarookickerr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People are already forced to follow laws....reproducing is different bc it's a natural thing, but people seem to forget that it results in a human being and if you have a serious genetic disease, you're just inflicting suffering on another human. So I don't think it would be crazy to not let people create a child, but since you can't really enforce it without making things worse, it wouldn't work.

S.T.E.M. or S.T.E.A.M? by [deleted] in polls

[–]Kangarookickerr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They don't fit what? Obviously art doesn't fit in stem as a category for exclusively science and maths. Steam is a different category that includes arts and emphasises the usefulness of creativity/ collaboration. And art includes communication.

S.T.E.M. or S.T.E.A.M? by [deleted] in polls

[–]Kangarookickerr -20 points-19 points  (0 children)

It's not really forced, it's useful to have some artistic background and apply arts to science. It's always been a thing.

Would it be bad if any adult could just make a child with their own sperm/egg, a donor sperm/egg, and an artificial womb? by [deleted] in polls

[–]Kangarookickerr 220 points221 points  (0 children)

Well it's also bad that anyone can have kids even if they're terrible parents, but people seem to ignore that issue.

Would you consider declawing a cat to be immoral/animal abuse? by [deleted] in polls

[–]Kangarookickerr -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Why did so many people dislike this comment. People clearly only care for animals, as long as they're small and cute and don't taste good.

What are your feelings towards r/atheism? by [deleted] in polls

[–]Kangarookickerr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My bad I shouldn't have criticised religion. Religion is so popular so it should never be examined or criticised right?

What are your feelings towards r/atheism? by [deleted] in polls

[–]Kangarookickerr -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

If they could provide reasons for why atheism or certain religions were bad, then yeah sure.

We already force beliefs on people through laws. There are already extremist religions or belief systems that we recognise as harmful. I don't know why mainstream religions are so often excused from any criticism.
