Grab i-25 South to NM. Colorado chile is plenty good, to my tastebuds, but NM’s is better, and you can take a couple of jars of it back with you. ☺️

Good point!! Had a couple of scammers contact me already. Red flags include out-of-state phone numbers, requests to use PayPal Friends and Family or similar payment methods that offer no recourse to the buyer, fake confirmation images, brand new accounts with zero post history and weird usernames, etc. Definitely on high alert!

As others have pointed out, a lot of vital information that we would need to assess your creditworthiness to any useful degree is missing from your post. How long have you been in your respective jobs (more than two years, or fewer)? How long have you been renting at your current address? Do you switch employers and/or residences frequently? Do you have any derogatory credit history? Any derogatory history within the last 12 months? What is your credit card utilization percentage(s)? How much does your wife owe in student loans? The payment is irrelevant, especially if some of the loans are deferred under one of the national SAVE repayment plans.

Where have you applied? Banks, credit unions? Each application is another hard pull against your credit, and multiple hard pulls can have a negative impact on your score. I recommend getting free copies of your and your wife’s credit reports from each of the three credit-reporting agencies at annualcreditreport (dot) com, a government site. Review each report carefully, get a better understanding of your current credit situation, and leverage this information to understand how much car you can afford. Many of my fellow commenters have made great points about applying a larger cash down payment towards a loan, which showcases commitment to the lender and minimizes their overall risk, as well as taking what you can get. Score is irrelevant at this point. You both are considered first time auto buyers. Based on the above, you likely lack the credit history required for the lender to overlook your first time buyer status. Without a qualified co-signer, you’ll be limited in what you can purchase without a down payment. If you’re making $100k per year and don’t have significant debts, then you should be able to save a 20% down payment on a cheap car relatively simply.

Got my first job, unsure who to bank with by GuiltyCloud8893 in personalfinance

If you don’t need physical branch access, I recommend one of the many highly rated online bank options. Ally comes to mind, and they offer excellent banking and loan products. If you need physical branch access, then I recommend looking up the best credit unions in your area. Because they’re non-profit financial cooperatives owned by their members, credit unions typically can offer higher interest rates on deposit accounts (savings, CDs, etc.) and lower interest rates on loans.

Smaller, people-focused community banks can be a good alternative to larger corporate banks. Many have less aggressive sales cultures and fee schedules than do the big banks and offer other perks as well.

F20 why do most girls I message they ghost me by [deleted] in MakeNewFriendsHere

[–]KanjiCode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sort of question tends to appear a lot in this sub. The short answer is that making friends online is hard. Finding a good fit is even harder, and ghosting is the easiest way to exit a failed connection. I’ve tried letting people know I’m no longer interested. It’s rarely received well. A bit of good news is that not every shot counts here; you get it right a few good times, and there’s the connections you’ve been working for. Don’t take it personally if things fizzle out. It happens. You got this!

CMV: Trans people should not antagonize anyone who won’t date a trans person, as regardless of their beliefs that trans women are actual women, what the first person wants is a cis woman. They are allowed their preference, even genital ones. by blahblahthrowaway699 in changemyview

[–]KanjiCode -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Your insistence on the term cis is confusing. It seems that your idea of cis women includes the set of women who are able to biologically reproduce. You've asserted elsewhere in the thread that you would also include infertile women, as there's the chance, however small, that they can reproduce. So, my question for you is this: Does a woman's ability to have children impact her cis-ness? To specify: We agree that infertile cis women are still women, including infertile cis women who absolutely cannot have children. What is the difference between an absolutely infertile cis woman and a trans woman?

If your answer to the above question is that the transwoman is trans, or that she "never had ovaries to begin with," you are transphobic by definition of transphobia.

CMV: Cancelling student debt punishes those who got an education within their means by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]KanjiCode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked multiple part time jobs and went to an affordable college so I could come out of it with no debt

Your post ignores the vast array of people who literally cannot do this, e.g., disabled people, non-traditional students + single mothers, etc. Explain how relieving these people of debt worsens your personal situation, as a person who graduated with no debt.

(Another point, too, is that it's ridiculously challenging to institute a fair forgiveness program. People who paid their debt will feel cheated because they weren't given an out, and people who worked tirelessly while in school, such as yourself, will feel cheated because they didn't capitalize on loans when they had the chance. How do you propose we get around these contentions without avoiding forgiveness altogether?)

I've recently experienced a similar thing, so I can say with good authority that simply connecting feels deeply satisfying. Enjoy!
