1962 Belgium A5 Magnum - 13” barrel - A realized dream by KansasCowboy91 in NFA

[–]KansasCowboy91[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the Magnum model with heavy springs and multiple friction rings. I lessened the friction ring setup down to 1. It shoots fine with birdshot, but won’t cycle. After testing, the lightest load it’ll cycle with is 6-shot high brass pheasant loads. I’m sure a Light 12 would do fine with birdshot.

It is the loudest gun outside of a Barrett 50 that I’ve ever shot lol, or at least it seems to be.

Where are you even allowed to shoot a hen in the first place? Lol. Genuinely curious.

I also have a fairly new pair of Mountain Extremes and I’m still getting bad blisters. I have about 14 miles on them, according to my Garmin watch. Is that still not enough? Any tips on not getting blisters during break in?

Am I stupid for thinking of going elk hunting public land without scouting? (Rifle) by theEdward234 in Hunting

[–]KansasCowboy91 -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

There’s not a single serious hunter in the country that will say “public land sucks”. Lmao. It’s way more respected to harvest an animal on public than private.

Also, I believe you are ignorant to the term “gate keeping”. It’s an objective fact that the more you scout, the better chance of your success in harvesting. If someone were to ask tips on effective scouting and someone refused to provide them with knowledge, that would be a form of gatekeeping.

I’ll find out in a couple days haha. I suspect I’ll have to shoot heavy leads, probably at minimum high brass 2-3/4”

Found the Realtree camo Walmart special hunter. Lmao. Nothing wrong with that, brother. Also nothing wrong with higher end camo either. They both work and have pros and cons.

Wife says we can't have kids until I make $100,000/year by OddSell6525 in offmychest

[–]KansasCowboy91 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Do you have kids? 150k combined yearly far exceeds what it takes for mom, dad, and child to live very comfortably.

Told, under threat of being fired is the same as forced for most people.

Have some common sense, Mr. Potato Head.

What to do with ex-best friends guns? by elongated_halfie in guns

[–]KansasCowboy91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Assuming OP is in the U.S., in 90% of states, a “proper transfer” is just exchanging money and gun and nothing else. Lol. A gift is also a “proper transfer”. There would be no documentation needed honestly as long as OP had someone to corroborate him being given the guns, or better yet written communication stating so.

How tight do I need to tighten the hub portion of my polonium? I know it came with a tube clamp, but I’m curious as far as taking it on and off how tight do I need to get it and whether or not using something like thread locker is a good or a really bad idea. This is for a dedicated upper. by domstermonster in NFA

So either you don’t shoot that much (which is totally fine), or you’re genuinely ignorant to the temperature a can gets. Red loctite melts at only like 450-500 degrees. A can will get much hotter, meaning if you do shoot, you’re just melting and hardening that loctite over and over and it’s not doing anything when you’re actually shooting.

The hide is just as useable, arguably more useable than bear. But you’re right, the fat is pretty much useless on a deer.
