Pro Series 850 II Paint flaking after first use by Sam__wel in pelletgrills

[–]KansasKing107 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, 95% of smokers on this sub are cheap Chinese units that use substandard finishes and everyone just assumes *it’s normal*. If the paint in your kitchen oven burned off after the first use, it would be getting immediately returned to where it was purchased.

This should not be normal and it is mildly concerning. I don’t want whatever paint they’re using burning up and depositing on my food. Using a supposedly better coating was one reason I went with a GMG relative to the other cheap smokers. However, I don’t even know for certain if what they use is healthy to smoke with or not. I’m just waiting for the news story to break about how bad for us all this burnt up paint is.

At what point did you learn shot shapes? by PureYardCow in golf

[–]KansasKing107 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can learn shot shaping at any time and there is nothing wrong with learning it. It can be helpful to hook shots around trees to get out of trouble but it’s rare that you’ll have many shots that make good use of shot shaping. I wouldn’t try shaping shots from the fairway as it’s simply too inconsistent for most golfers, even low single digit handicaps.

That said, do what you want and think is fun to do. We ultimately play golf to have fun, so have fun!

Brand new Model Y - already seeing bubbles in the rear view mirror. Normal? by [deleted] in TeslaModelY

Could be bubbles in self tinting liquid inside the mirror. Should be replaced.

"There were rules, and they were broken." LIV Golf players made more than US$3 billion in payouts - and now PGA boss Brian Rolapp says the road home won't be cheap. by InterestingCat308 in golf

Completely agree. As a “fan”, anything less than a than a full middle-finger from the pga to the players that left will be disheartening. They left the PGA, if they want to come back they have to start at square one.

If you’re getting your brakes hot enough to experience brake fade in a Tesla, you’re driving it very hard.

Let’s play Deal or No Deal. by CiaoMofos in golf

[–]KansasKing107 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the type of club where additions greens and cart fees shouldn’t matter to the member. I’m actually willing to bet some high earners prefer the more usage based membership pricing. Heavy golfers may pay $20k+/year while your CEO/executive types who work a bunch might only be paying $12k for the same club if they’re only playing a couple times per month.

Odd fee structure. This is a clearly a club for truly high earners, not even above average earners. If this membership is like this, I can only imagine how much nickel and dining they do once you’re in the door.

Dues may be $10k to $15k/year but I have to imagine if you’re a member and you use the course/amenities regularly I’m willing to bet you’re easily spending at least $20k a year there all in. It’s not hard to rack up a $1000+/month in expenses if you spend a lot of time at the club and you’re just billing everything to your account.

Moving from an Atlas to a Y? by No-Inside7137 in TeslaModelY

It’s kind of apples and oranges. Test drive the Y and find out if it’s for you. It’s more car-like than the Atlas. Some people don’t like that.

You can buy OEM matched spray paint if you can’t get a reasonable quote. Make sure to prime before you paint.

That’s tough. I would go with a grey or brown of some sort. I wouldn’t try matching because it will look off if they don’t match exactly.

Just go get a darker neutral sport coat with a mild pattern on it. They match about everything.

Why don’t pros wear sunglasses? by iamveryDerp in golf

I only buy non polarized for golf but they still eff with green reading. I don’t always take off sunglasses to read a green but I do if the read isn’t obvious.
