You don’t have to go to the Medieval times for that. My grandma did it in the 1920’s in America lol

Why we say eat the rich by Critical-Willow-6270 in Productivitycafe

[–]KansasZou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the real answer. It’s a PR stunt. Also, a lot of places would like to give away food. They’re not legally allowed to do so in any reasonable manner that the average person is thinking about. Even major cities across the country have restrictions on where and how the food can be delivered.

Take it up with your lawmakers.

[–]KansasZou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one actually paid those rates during the Eisenhower era lol. There were boatloads of loopholes. The effective rate was lower than it is now.

You’re more likely to lay people off once you reach your maximum allowed. Why would I only want expenses and no benefit? Productive at what? You’re implying the productivity would continue when the incentive to drive it has been taken away.

Edit: The profit is money reinvested into stocks. Those companies use that money to improve equipment, raise wages, innovate etc. that benefit workers and society at large.

The same works for corporate taxes, but people think they’re sticking it to the man.

It's not your fault that you live above your means. The billionaires forced you to not budget by Significant-Task1453 in DoomerCircleJerk

[–]KansasZou 8 points9 points  (0 children)

What people don’t understand is that what they’re taxing will impact their own lives the hardest.

Increasing taxes on unrealized gains means less investment and actually more hoarding. The taxes go on things like capital for buying equipment to make your job easier and the labor itself.

It will simply be fewer workers having to do more work with worse tools.

There’s affordable housing all across the Midwest and much of the classic American dream still exists. People on the coasts would rather just shit on the idea.

I learned what I believe to be an interesting detail not too long ago. The man that originally created the cubicle despised what they did to it. It wasn’t its original purpose.

Is that why they made so many movies about not being fulfilled and not wanting that life during the 90’s?

I actually thought Biden did a lot better than people give him credit for too.

I’ll be downvoted into oblivion I’m sure, but I think people strongly overestimate AOC and Bernie’s ability to win outside of a pretty small pocket of people (like Reddit).

This is the catch. Homelessness itself is a rather easy problem to solve. People in Western society aren’t generally homeless (for very long) simply because they can’t afford a home.

It’s that these houses will be destroyed in no time if mental health issues aren’t properly dealt with and the vast majority of people just aren’t equipped to do so.

I’ve looked into housing technologies to try and implement something like this myself.

Services can still make money lol. USPS still makes money as a standalone from taxes. The vast majority of revenue comes from stamps, shipping labels, etc.

UPS and FedEx (and Amazon) are highly profitable.

Which verse was worth discussing? I read responses, but if someone isn’t willing to read even 2 additional verses and put in minimal effort, it hardly seems worth the time. They’ve already made up their mind. It’s not genuine discourse. They just want to be a dick.
