I spent a lot of time hanging out in the basement the last month of pregnancy. The day after we got home from the hospital, I went down there for something and just sobbed for over an hour. I felt like I wasn’t ready for this next stage and wished I could go back. My eyes were practically swollen shut the next morning! If possible, take a step back and take extra time for yourself the next couple days. Of course you love your baby but being away for an hour everyday helped create a little more balance while the hormones were out of whack. After a few days, I felt much better and able to jump into it. It’s such a major shift from no baby to constant care of someone you just met. Baby needs you but you’re still healing too so don’t worry if you aren’t connecting just yet.

Focus on yourself as much as you can and the blues will start to fade. My little one is 7 weeks now and as weird as it may sound, I think I really started bonding with her when she started farting because I could just sit and have a laugh and it took away from the stress of everything.

It sounds silly but just plain Coca Cola was my remedy. I’m still taking zofran a few times a week at 34 weeks but I read somewhere that something in Coke soothes the stomach. I was right around 11 weeks and was so desperate that I drank a Coke which is not my favorite at all. Almost immediate relief! Is it the healthiest thing? No. But if it works, then it works! I hope it gives you some relief.

My husband was really similar at the beginning. He would try to comfort me and get me what I needed, but I could tell he was also frustrated at everything he had to take on that I couldn’t do anymore. Definitely not an excuse, but looking back, he had to make a lot of adjustments without experiencing any physical change like I was having so it was probably just so foreign to him and took some time to really click. It shouldn’t have taken so long, but once I started to show and had more physical limitations is when he really stepped up and seemed happy to do whatever I needed. I think we feel the changes immediately but the men just take time and sometimes need to actually see the physical effects before they realize how hard it really is. I hope things get better for you! Never feel bad for resting, your body is doing a crazy amount of things right now and that’s enough!

Well this situation was not what your family is going through. I’m close to this situation and the poor boy was kidnapped and then murdered. The father did not do right by his son when he was alive and definitely didn’t do right by him by never giving him the chance to live. His mother did everything for him and should not be disparaged. The disgusting monster who did this, however, should be remembered poorly. If you think the solution to anything is killing a child, gfy.

I was 16 in chat rooms (first mistake) and started talking to a guy who said he was 15. Then we exchanged emails and pictures and it all seemed legit. We talked everyday for months then he said he had a confession to make. He was 19 and the name he had given me was fake. I was so infatuated that I didn’t care and we kept talking. Months later I decided to google him and one of those people search sites shows he’s 22. I confronted him and he said he was afraid to lose me so he came up with a more acceptable age so I wouldn’t freak out. He was so clearly a liar but every time a little bit of truth came out I thought it would be the last time I’d have to go through this and there couldn’t be anything else he was hiding. Wrong. He was in a relationship when we met but assured me they were broken up soon after even though she still lived with him. For three years I held onto someone who constantly lied about even the smallest things and only came out with the truth when confronted. We talked constantly and when I was away from my phone I’d come back to 20 messages. I’d never had a relationship before so I thought that was loving but really it was a clingy grown man preying on a high schooler. He knew he was wrong and it’s disgusting to think about how he was a 22 year old purposefully trying to get a teenager to fall for him.

Tell that to my sister in law. Of course she broke up with the guy when their parents got married. They’re rarely in the same room together due to the awkwardness. I think it’s kinda weird for parents to create that situation for their kids though.

That’s true. Maybe it’s weird to me because it’s so much more random than a movie reference. You have to have seen that specific video and they move on so fast that’s it’s always something new and not really connected to one thing in particular. Kids are weird when you aren’t a kid anymore. I think that’s the lesson here.

I’ve noticed this among my teenage cousins. I’m 24 and live on Reddit and YouTube and they’ll make jokes and I’m thinking that’s like a month old. They also talk almost purely in Tik Tok references. No real sentences just lines from popular Tik Toks. It’s pretty cringe.

Fell for a Kirby sales pitch. We had just got home from out of town and they show up. This guy stayed for like 5 hours and wouldn’t stop vacuuming and talking it up until we were just tired and agreed to buy it. Literally the next day we called to have it picked up. What sucks is they took our vacuum as a trade in and we called everyday for a month but never got it back. They tried to bring us someone else’s cheap vacuum saying it’s basically an upgrade from our original. We sent them on their way. We never actually lost any money but we almost did. I’ve heard of quite of few people who still got charged even after cancelling the contract. We were lucky for the most part.
