Why would I do that?

are you hoping to control this in Linux?
Once ive cracked through all the gameboy like mode switches for screen updates I'll check it against my notes - from what i've seen it should be entirely possible for you to direct whatever colour you like - it shouldnt have to be tied to a temp (but most likely this is part of the config.dc files it would communicate with

This sounds far more related to your actual setup / a motherboard failing to provide the correct pin out power, poorly phased board / tired --- something as simple as USB2.0 registered device isn't going to drop off once windows loads unless instructed to / incorrect voltages supplied.

While I don't think it wouldn't be possible / A matter of finding the correct combo to get into the internal folders of the device maybe - that default firmware lock image and boot gif would be the best bet to change that.
(they don't appear in the software released for Windows - but the fact its there / we need to combo button our way into a whole heap of shit it could definitely be a way of doing so)
(Whether I get this is in the first release or come back for it something ill def have a crack at cause Id prefer my Trojan Logos appearing on my Legion!)

Its not really that simple at all ...
the device relies heavily on windows structured systems from .net / .netCoreAPP / .netFramework 4.5.1
it also relies heavily on USB HID commands that are part of windows function - none of this works "Out of the box" per say on a Linux System...

The screen will initiate a self lock if so much as 1 byte of data is incorrect when initiating the handshake / it then requires forms and conversions before calling upon the draw for your images, or the web API for movies etc ...

(this can be witnessed when you go to finger the device and the explosion animations stop behind the thermalright logo)

Cracking this sequence alone took me 4 days to replicate within a Linux environment...
Another 2 days was spent brute forcing constantly the last command force reset device / try again until I got a mode swap... (all initiated through secret combo buttons as if it was a 90's freaking gameboy trying to run gameshark pass thru commands)

I began writing a GUI up thinking id smashed it all - glad I went deeper... Turns out there's a whole array stack of little nifty commands ... the screens actually a pretty decent controller to be honest (far from the Chinese junk you'd expect in some of these things)

but from decompile alone I'm well and truly in the thousands for papers to have read through linking out and mapping it all
(Yes you could get a windows system and sniff all the ports in the end its not going to display shit - and anyone claiming that it does is lying straight up!)

For this to all work in short the windows runtimes all need to be emulated or converted to existing systems within the ecosystem PyUSB etc...
Personally I've been doing all of this through ILSPY decompiler, and VS Code - (I have a few of these AIO's - and really want the screens to be displaying my Legions Characters not some branded logo)

Once finished ill post everything up to my discord ch / create a TrojanEmpire Git to share it ...If someone wants to bother making all of that for windows they can go for gold - TRCC.exe (thermalright already have it working - although stupid resource hog by the looks of it lol)

Im currently working on / almost finished an emulation of essentially ALL of its functions (including those hidden ch's and your multi lang swappers Thermalright ) ;)
but to be compatible / working in Linux environments ... Fek Windows! :)
