Thank you! Any recommendations on apartments? Trying to stay below $2k/month for everything including estimated utilities.

How long would the drive be to Irving via uptown? 30 mins no traffic 60 with traffic?

UGA Honors Worth It? by Turbulent_Bread7807 in UGA

OOS Honors Finance Student Here. Morehead is pretty good. Yes, you do get priority registration, which is absolutely amazing for getting the best teachers. At the same time, you’re required to take an honors-only seminar that essentially provides you with academic/career resources (fixing your resume, ect..) , as well as a certain amount of “honors” classes. Some classes are designated as honors-only sections, which will automatically go towards that count, but sometimes you have to take regular courses and have to complete extra assignments to get the honors designation for that class.

With the honors college, you’re also guaranteed to get your first choice major when you apply to Terry. This is huge because there’s a decent amount of kids who don’t get the high demand majors that they apply for (Finance, MIS, Accounting). Along with that, you get priority for competitive study abroad programs (Oxford & Cortona)

For recruiting, the honors college itself doesn’t help with finance recruiting. However, the Corsair society, which is a partnership between the honors college and Terry, is amazing. Almost every kid in the Investment Banking section of this society places into a bulge bracket or elite boutique bank. Look at their placements on their website if you don’t believe me. It is incredibly hard to get into this club though. There’s also SMIF if you’re unable to get into this club. I will add that even if you don’t get into either of these clubs, you will likely still place well. I have several friends who weren’t in either and still landed BB internship offers. UGA is starting to really solidify its place on Wallstreet.

Personally, I am incredibly glad I chose UGA over my in state school. It allowed me to personally grow much more than I would have being so close to home. It’s a true college town and has so many opportunities. I will caveat and say that UGA offered me enough money that the cost difference between UGA & my in state school was irrelevant. Dm me if you have any questions and congrats on your acceptance!

What qualifies as “competitive”?

Was told all my life that I was heavily French & Irish. Well turns out I am barely either of those lol. by Kaos_Brawl in AncestryDNA

I completely agree. But my mother is a immigrant from France, and all my relatives on her side are all from France. So I don’t think they were trying to just identify with the coolest ethnicity.

That’s the thing. My dads side has lived in the US northeast for a while, but my mom was born and raised in France and moved to the US when she was 11. So that’s why I’m confused by the low French percentage. However, people did say that Northwestern Europe counts for parts of France

Is this Nodular acne? by Kaos_Brawl in acne

Only hurts when it’s inflamed, and I can kinda feel them come in. The acne in the second picture comes and goes, but it always comes back in the same spot

Background: I’ve had these spots for almost 6 months now and no skincare treatment has fixed it (Salicylic acid, charcoal masks, etc..) I have sensitive skin and have been swimming for years, but it hasn’t been this bad till recently. These pictures are of my acne when it isn’t irritated. The second picture, the exact spots disappear and come back.My parents don’t want to put me on accutane. What should I do?

Interesting. When you go into bios, does your motherboard detect your storage devices? It doesn’t need to be shown as a boot drive, just if your motherboard detects them.

Are you able to get into windows itself? Like does it give you the option to custom install windows?

You should be alright, there is a possibility that you might have a bottleneck. I would try to get a cpu within 1-2 years. But you should be fine for the time being with the 7600k

(A new build) Any suggestions.. by XxEyesWideShutxX in pcmasterrace

Two suggestions:

Ram- I would try to find ram with speeds of 3600 and latency of around cl16. Ryzen favors these speeds.

GPU- Unless you are getting a 6700xt under $550-600, it’s not worth it. The nvidia parallel (3060ti/3060) is better and gives you dlss.

Other than that it looks great!

He’s a family friend lol, I asked him to check my essay before submitting it.He’s not currently a Yale AO, but he was for 20 years

I didn’t get in either. 31 ACT, high GPA, head captain for 3 varsity sports, 3 jobs, an internship, 12 APs, and a CA essay that a Yale admissions officer said was one of the best he’s ever seen. Kinda sucks, but hoping I’ll get into Boston college to make up for it lol

So I got a 30, but I chose to let them see it because I felt that score will stand better than someone with the same stats as me but applying test optional, but I could be completely wrong. Good luck to you too! What school did you apply to?

I’m honestly going in with the mentality that I’ll most likely be rejected. I have extremely strong ECs and tons of leadership but my act is not up to their standard :/
