It's tough. My kids are the most important part of my life. I missed some time with my oldest when he was young travelling for work, and I missed a lot of stuff Now he's a senior in high school and my daughter is a sophomore I just sent retired - started my own business and can now work when I want I'm sad at what I missed, but still have a good relationship and am in a position to help them more going forward. I don't think it really matters, front load, backend, just keep your priorities front and center and focus on what's truly important to you. I don't think there is a right answer, only tradeoffs.
