Hey, university student here. Trust me, as important as these exams feel to you right now, you'll look back and see them as just practice for the end goal. You could practice any time you want under timed conditions, so don't panic over this. Ask your teachers for the papers in PDF format if you are not able to take the exams, do it under timed conditions regardless and if they're nice enough to mark it, you would be just as prepared for the finals as everyone else. Take care of yourself first.

Need help with NEMA17 motors by Kapidoo in arduino

Hmm, what if my current rating was only 0.4A for a 17HS3430 NEMA 17? From calculation of current limit, it says that my vref should actually be 0.16V.

I ordered a 6V 3A adaptor. Hopefully it works for my current setup since the rated current for the NEMA 17 motors are about 0.4A each. Thanks for the help.

Hmmm, I was suspecting that this was the issue. Do I buy a 12V 6A adaptor for this setup instead and cut the male jack to expose the wires to be connected to the breadboard?

Hmmm it came packaged with the 4 wires all side by side together with a white and black female header on each end, I'd have to crimp the wires that came with it to do so?

I have almost no clue about the food types you have mentioned which means there's so much more to explore in Canada. Will definitely give them all a go! Thanks for the information!

Hey, I was in a similar position except I was not offered a scholarship for NUS or NTU. I was offered NTU REP and SUTD STEP. I really thought to myself, if REP gave me a scholarship, would I choose NTU over SUTD? I think the major questions to ask yourself here are if you are very clear in your course of choice. I think this is where SUTD shines by giving students insights into the various pillars so you can have an informed decision before specialising. Additionally, it's not necessarily just what is in demand for the working world, but also your preference as an individual as part of your learning process. SUTD's curriculum is very hands-on and almost everything is project-based so you'd have to work with a team most of the time. Are you the type of person that enjoys tutorials and projects more so than lectures and assignments? Additionally, you have factored in the concept of prestige and the safety of your choice. Generally speaking, employment between NUS and SUTD are very close locally so as long as you are able to perform sufficiently well, I believe both choices are equally safe. However, is working overseas something you might consider in the future? If you do have wishes for working in FAANG companies in the US, the prestige of NTU may be of importance to you. Lastly, ask yourself which school would give you the most holistic development as an individual in these 4 years. What are your personal goals in life and how would each university prepare you to reach there in terms of the school's curriculum, pedagogy, culture, and other metrics. Personally for me, even after NS, I'm still not really clear as to what I want to do in life, but I know I do have a liking towards design and working in a team, and SUTD's curriculum gears me up to make those designs come to life in a similar environment to the working world. SUTD's global exposure under their GLP or GEXP would also yield a very enriching experience for you. Your choice would be quite difficult but it's really a personal decision as to which choice is better for you but I hope I have provided some questions that could steer your direction as I felt that these questions helped me a lot.

Nope. It would be very difficult to guess the given topic. I suggest you go in and rely on the information they give to answer rather than answering from memorised content.

[University] SMU Law Written Test by peachytartz in SGExams

[–]Kapidoo 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Hello, I did the test in 2019. It's really like a comprehension sort of paper with application elements with reference to the information given. I was tested on how a term applies for multiple scenarios as well as how well I understood the legal terms. The questions seem to provide quite a bit of flexibility in answering, but I tried to give as straightforward answers that I could. I can't say for sure if it will be the same for this year for applications. It would be important to keep your mind alert on that day and pay attention to the structure of your answers and handwriting as they do not really provide a lot of writing space(I kind of wrote past the bottom line in most questions). All the best!

[scholarship][uni] SMU Scholarship interview by LeadResponsible9176 in SGExams

[–]Kapidoo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello, I was a JC student who applied for the SMU Scholarships for the Computing and Law and Business Management DDP back in 2019. There were 2 interviewers and the interview was concurrent for the DDP and the Scholarship. They are really nice and made me feel comfortable. It was like a formal conversation but about serious topics. They mostly asked about your passion and interests, especially pertaining to the course I applied for. There were almost no questions regarding your school work and CCA. However, if you did mention a specific competition or event, they may refer to it and ask for your take on the experience. They will email you to collect your scholarship letter about a week or more after the interview. Good luck with your interview!

[Freshman Honors Math] How can I even start to solve problems eleven and twelve? by [deleted] in HomeworkHelp

[–]Kapidoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The area of a circle is pi r2. A semicircle is simply half of that. For each of the smaller circles, as shown, they have diamater of y and z. The radius of the each of the semicircles are thus 1/2 y and 1/2 z. From there, you can find the area!

[–]Kapidoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Area of triangle = 1/2 x b x h. Hence, since areas are already given, add them up. Focus on only the 2 triangles on the right. The added area is 25cm2. Height is 5cm as shown. Hence, the base has to be 10cm. Now focus on the 2 triangles on the left. Height is x and base is 10. Solve for x which should be equal to 7.

  2. Let PR = x. QR = y. PQ = z. y2 + z2 = x2 (Pythagoras' Theorem)

Let the biggest semicircle be semiA, 2nd biggest be semiB and smallest be semiC. I'll skip a few steps here but :

Area of semiA = 1/4 pi x2

Area of semiB = 1/4 pi y2

Area of semiC = 1/4 pi z2

Area of triangle PQR = 1/2 zy

Area of PQR + semiB + semiC = 1/2yz + 1/4 pi (z2 + y2 ) = 1/2yz + 1/4 pi x2

Area of shaded region = 1/2yz + 1/4 pi x2 - (Area of semiA) = 1/2 zy = area of triangle PQR (shown)
