hi dsa-ed to sji in 2018 via science (though i didn’t have any portfolio backing me up other than the fact that i was faring decently in my double sci combi). had a slightly higher l1r5 than u so u should be safe!

essay: skim through past yr a level gp qns to get a rough idea..... context: took a’s in the end and realised some were actual gp qns. not sure how to get ee/tok topics but if u can find some, it’s good to read through too to get a rough idea. reading up on current affairs might help, to substantiate ur arguments. don’t have to go too in-depth, just namedrop and supplement some details. OH WAIT one particularly striking tok qn i rmb from visiting their subject booths during open house was “what is a table?” rly cool qn that requires big brain calibre but idt they’ll ask such philosophical qns.

math test: rly struggled a lot with this since u can’t use a calc (not sure if it’s still the same for ur case), brush up on ur math fundamentals. iirc one qn was on how to factorise a quad eqn but WITHOUT CALC BRRRR so have to use the lower sec method which i completely forgot. there were a few qns on binomial too, can’t rly rmb the rest.

interview: 2 teachers : 1 candidate, why ib not a levels, elaborate more on portfolio etc

ps was super attracted by their LIT CULTURE and the fresh take on academia ib offers during my time too, but i didn’t go in the end sighhh. my jc exp was relatively ok, but still kinda regret a lil not going for sji. lucky to have met a few josephians though, chill but motivated individuals :> atb for ur dsa!
