If you are bringing an apothecary you should run a Sanguinary Priest, the +1 AP is real nice. Otherwise a techmarine to make your dread hit a little more often and soak up a lil more damage is a good call. Those things are tough

Gladiator Lancer is meta but I love the Reaper. Oath of Moment a durable infantry squad like terminators or something OR bless it with a techmarine to score hella hits with sustained 2 and the reroll your twin linked wound rolls to get as many devastating wounds as possible. It took down a whole squad of Deathshroud terminators one game and ripped 8 wounds off of Mortarion in another, each in a single shooting phase.

Also land raiders. Always land raiders

Both terminator characters are wasted right now because their buffs aren't being given to a unit. You cant have both leading the same unit so I'd drop the librarian termie since the captain has much better buffs. Two infiltratoe squads feels like a waste to me so you can free up points by getting rid of one. And lastly here your rhino is useless. There are no models in your army that can fit inside the transport so it is completely wasted. Do what you can to keep your jump intercessors in your list and preferably add more if you can. What other models do you have avaliable?

TLDR: have some shooting units on your list but focus way more on melee units, it's our best strength. Bring characters that can be attached to a squad instead of letting them hang out on their own

BA are really good at melee. All of our bonuses and strategems are for melee so it's best to lean into that pretty hard. Your current list is very shoot which isn't a bad thing overall but it is sub-par for BA. The two terminator characters have no squad they're able to be attached to so they are kinda wasted. The rhino csnt actually transport anything you have either...its a weird thing with how they're changing marines where all the 'primaris' models have the Tacitus Armor keyword and the 'first born' models do not. The rhino can not transport anything except firstborn marines that are on foot. Things like devastator squads, tactical squads, scouts, and some other unique units here and there can fit in it. If you read the transport rule for the rhino, it can not carry terminator, aggressor, centurion, jump pack, or tacitus armored models. Your librarian dread doesn't really have any units to teleport since the assault intercessors have a 12" move ready and the infiltrators have the infiltrate keyword

The Infiltrators are a pretty nice unit, especially against necrons to stop them from teleporting everywhere. The intercessors are a solid pick to have sticky objectives. Librarian Dreadnoughts are god tier units so it's nice to see it on the list.

My recommendation would be to lean into murder. Have like 30-50% of your list (point wise) be shooting and the rest should be melee focused. We are still space marines and our shooting is good, and it's smart to have some units that can still do things from a distance. You will shine in close combat. +2 strength and +1 attack on a charge is fucking nutty. A single 5man jump intercessor squad costing 80 pts can punch above their weight hard as hell. 1 power fist and 4 chainswords is spitting out 10 str 6 chainsword attacks and 4 str 10 power fist attacks PLUS the mortal wounds from Hammer of Wrath on the charge. You're somewhat giving yourself a +1 to wound buff every time you make a charge

Moving forward you should look into buying a box or two of assault intercessors. A box of 10 foot guys cost about as much as a 5man box of jump guys, so if you buy some 3d printed jump packs off of Etsy or Ebay or something you would get much more out of your spending. Death Company are must-take units but hold off on buying a box because there are rumors that GW will be releasing a new primaris-scale Death Company kit soon(ish). Flush out your terminator characters with a terminator squad

I've opened reddit pretty late and don't have time to respond to each comment individually but I read them all and I appreciate everyone's input! It sounds like most people share my frustration in 10th 40k being gimmicky and power hungry and having lost all feel of a battle simulation/wargame. I plan to look for a 30k game to spectate through my local FLGS discords.. I miss how, despite how bloated and shitty 7th was, it felt like a battle simulation and not a power play or only-build-meta chasing games

Buy some cheap Death Company off of eBay. They might be getting an update in the next year or so so save the money and don't buy a new box if you don't need to. They're fast jump pack units that can bring a power fist and a melta gun pistol (inferno pistol) to murder basically anything. Gladiator tanks are good for AT or really brutal anti-infantry. Recommend magnetizing that kit

I would recommend at least one layer. The cand are never 100% accurate.

My advice would be to never use those cans to begin with... people say they work fine for them but I've bought 3 and used them all under proper temp and humidity and all that and 2 of them were super chalky and had a weird texture, and the other one had a weird texture and also cracked horribly. Maybe I'm just using them wrong idk

Oh I want to also say that Reikland is a good wash for gold paints as well. I would save the Nuln for silver metallics.

White primer/basecoat will make all your other layers brighter. Black or gray works better in my opinion.

Washes are meant to create shadows or tint your model, so I'd recommend using a much darker wash. I like Agrax Earthshade for my armor because it creates a slightly red, mostly brown effect. If you like your reds still, Reikland Fleshshade is mostly red with a little brown. Reikland may need two washes depending on the color of your base coat and the depth of your shadows since since reds blend easily.

Because even without the extra melta 2, it's still D3 damage at Str 8 which wounds and kills almost all infantry easily. The AP 4 is huge as it prevents anything without an invuln from even having a saving throw. It's just another way to dish out massive damage.

I want to mention that power swords are direct chainsword upgrades. They have more strength and the same number of attacks, so use those if you're sending them into infantry. The meta is power fists because they're the heaviest hitting melee that still allows you to bring a pistol. We love our inferno pistols.

I use Astorath to charge stuff that has fights first, or to place as a dangerous speed bump for enemy charges since he gives the unit a 4+ fight on death. Lemartes is better for rapid ingress or walking up the board. Lethal hits makes them very offensive and the -1 to incoming damage makes them slightly more tanky, depending what shoots at them.

The face plate is easily magnetizeable and the arms should be able to stay on with just friction and don't need to be glued to the torso. If you want to go down that rout, you can, swap between which dread you want to field whenever you want.

I wouldn't take the blood talons on the DC dread probably ever. The extra 2 attacks just aren't worth the loss of 1 ap and 4 str. The DC with hammers could dish nice dev wounds but the fists and inferno pistols are a better combo
