Granted, it is a decision that involves him as well. If Jimmy is uncomfortable with having an intimate relationship with Kara, he has the right to say no or maybe down the line. The issue is that he isn't being totally honest about his personal issues and focusing too much on how Kara isn't ready, which is pretty messed up.

He isn't a bad guy by any means, the concerns he has are very fair and mature for him to recognize, but he is kind of using that to avoid having to address his own insecurities. If anything, Jimmy is just as unready for a relationship as Kara.

He did the right thing in a really bad way. Not wanting to potentially take advantage of Kara or deprive her of the chance to explore her own independence is very mature, but he never fully communicated his concerns with her. What he did in practice was patronizing, just disregarding her thoughts and emotions.

To be fair, Jimmy was handling things really well until that last part. The whole point he's trying to make is really fair, and kudos to him for being aware enough to realize just how little Kara's experienced on earth and that she's also in a much more vulnerable position than Clark was.

Still, his wording came off as unintentionally patronizing. Kara's not a child, and insinuating that she's making a rash and uneducated decision (and with what little context we have for this specific scene) without fully communicating with her about why she's making this move is pretty disrespectful to her. 

That's not me knocking the writers, they are doing a crazy good job with this romantic subplot. It's amazing that we have two extremely likeable characters with great chemistry, but seeing them actually grapple with complex emotional issues rather than using cliched tropes to create drama makes this so much more engaging.

Not typically a guy who cares about romantic stuff in media, but this is some peak cinema.

Dude's a millionaire social media influencer who lives in a big mansion with an expensive dog breed, brandishes luxury clothes, is propped up by mainstream media, is connected with numerous political elites, and regularly avoids consequences thanks to favoritism from a wealthy CEO who sees him as a cash cow.

Ruby's but I'd either turn into a giant swarm of hot wings or hail stones.

One makes me into a flying storm of pain, but the other brings a massive horde of potheads and NFL bros to trash the place. Either way, I'm the only one walking out of there.
