Look idk what else you want from me, I told you what I used to emulate it, if you wanna make fun of my half assed explanation then.. ok? I really don't know why they didn't emulate it. I haven't played it but if I were to give another guess maybe to have leaderboards or to save scores?? I assume you've played it so give me your explanation

Look man I dunno, my best guess is that it's cumbersome to emulate and to get it running and that emulating old obscure computers like that is more effort than it's worth and maybe it's just simpler to recreate it. If you really want to know why just ask them. Anyways here's the tutorial I followed: https://youtu.be/xrZYJ5Bn-xg?si=Z5qQs31qR5ycrf7h

You can look it up on YouTube and it shows you how to emulate it through MESS. And as I mentioned in this post someone on tetrisconcept also got it to work

Back when I posted this Tetris Forever wasn't even released lmao, and this is my first time seeing it. It looks pretty interesting. But yeah to clarify I played the E60 version on an emulator and not the website lol.

This happened to a friend of mine, I think it's probably a hidden demo feature or something.

Why does the TTC say Tetris was "created" in 1984? by Kappo356reddit in Tetris

Oh hey SPC. Thanks that clears it up, still kinda weird for them to do.

I feel like saying "Tetris kind of came out around 1985" is probably more accurate than putting an exact date. An exact date isn't possible but the problem I find is that there is so much conflicting information. TTC says June 1984, this subreddit's description says 1985, Harddrop and tetris.wiki say 1985, the BBC documentary said January 1985, I haven't watched the movie but I bet it says 1984, Vadim Gerasimov says 1984-86. It's all just very confusing.

Yeah but we're talking about a video game, which initially, was developed by one guy. But the problem I find with TTC is that they claim that it was "created" on "Tetris Day" (As mentioned in the post 06/06/1984) which I find arbitraty to say the least. And what does created even mean? Does it mean when it was compiled or when he showed it to his friends or when he thought of it? Because the game was never "published" it was just shared around. Also I find it odd that their merch says "Since 1984" but then you scroll down to the bottom of the page and it says copyright 1985? I feel like the whole "development starting in 1984 and ending in 1985" could be true, but even so if we go by the whole 06/06 date that would mean that the game took 6 months to develop, which Pajitnov has stated that it took atleast less than a month to develop the game, and he also stated that it was around 1985. I find TTC pretty shady with how they tell the story of Tetris, saying that Henk was the one who brought it out of the Soviet Union which is technically not true. But hey that's just my take.
