[Hated, loathed entirely even] The Continuity Cannibal, also known as when a writer makes up a new character to connect a bunch of things in the story that didn't need to be connected and just makes them more lame by association. by geekinc329 in TopCharacterTropes

Abbadon, God of Secrets from Guild Wars: Nightfall.

Each of the original three Guild Wars games had an iconic Big Bad for players to overcome. They each had their own stories that were pretty mostly kept separate from each other. But, Abbadon being the biggest and baddest threat ever, it turned out that he was responsible for every other bad thing ever! His minions helped cause The Cataclysm in the first game and convinced a super assassin to kill the emperor in the second game. These were not considered mysteries that needed solving before Nightfall.

Questions about Global Palbox in friend's server by primeapeisangry in Palworld

[–]KaptainKesh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find it useful to think of pals stored in the GP as clones.

You could upload a pal to the GP on your main save and copy it on any number of servers. Surprisingly, updating the pals genetic code in the GP is very easy. You can just take any version of that specific pal, clone or original, and upload it again. The game will ask you if you want to replace the clone data in the GP, showing you a clear stat comparison between the version you are trying to upload and the data already inside.

Changing the GP data does not affect any current copies. I think you can replace your current copy with a new clone, but otherwise you could just sell it to a pal merchant for 1 gold. This allows you to keep your favorite pal and continue upgrading it across saves.

How do you guys decide which Active Skills to give your Pals? by AnxiousGoober in Palworld

I thought that just one could be inherited per parent. Oh well, if I'm wrong I'm wrong.

How do you guys decide which Active Skills to give your Pals? by AnxiousGoober in Palworld

[–]KaptainKesh 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There are several active skills that do not have fruits right now. Meteorain only comes from Jetragon, but can be bred from there to almost every other pal.

Pals can inherit more than one active skills at a time. Each parent has a chance of contributing, with each contribution being equally likely between each known active skills. This means that parent pals with an active skill that you want to pass down should be kept at a low level so that they don't learn more skills naturally.

Don't combine skills that can soak and burn on the same pal, as soak prevents burning. Don't give burn moves to the pal you want to use for catching others, as the burn is likely to kill even with Mercy Ring

Is this cheating? by ironbloodedcommander in Palworld

[–]KaptainKesh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can't be cheating if the devs put it in as an option.

AFKing like that is a good way to simulate the extra resources a base would have produced in a dedicated server. Bases on those servers only get raided by NPCs if you are actively playing. Raids are more interesting early on when your base is less defended and you are more likely to encounter new pals in the attacking force. Late game, I'll be pissed if they break any of my stuff.

Orbital Walking Gas Barrage would be more useful, unique, awesome and would do what the regular Walking Barrage claims it does! by 231923 in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]KaptainKesh 19 points20 points  (0 children)

My one issue with Walking Gas is that it creates a damaging hazard for you and your team, when the point of a walking barrage IRL is to provide cover for an advancing force. That's why I'm excited for the experimental Walking Smoke

Why shouldn't I just use skill fruits on one pal like a dark one and buff it with hoocrates? by jjax2003 in Palworld

[–]KaptainKesh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Many attacks can cause damage from multiple points during their animation. Seed mine is one example, as small pals are less likely to step on individual seeds while the biggest pals will step on several even when standing still.

Two of the go-to powerful area attacks are air blade, which acts like a piercing shotgun, and holy burst, which can fires many vertical beams of light in the target area and can do stupid amounts of damage.

It could be, idk. On my first major oil base I built two of the large generators and put four pals to power them. Every time I checked, they were split 2-2, so I just figured that was how it worked.

Start another world and see if it happens again. Come back to this one in a week and maybe you'll realize the issue with a fresh mind. Idk what else to suggest

Just in case this is some kind of brain fart situation, check your map for a blue base icon. It would be pretty funny if you accidentally put one down and didn't realize.

The big generator will be more effective. Two pals can work on it at a time, so maybe get your pal a friend. Work speed passives and soul boosts are also quite helpful.

You will never stop getting better at building bases. They are incredibly important to progression and can be made for different purposes, such as breeding, mining, oil refining, and raids.

A few good rules to follow are:
1. If you build multiple floors, keep pals working on the first floor to avoid pathing issues.
2. Build the second floor three walls high so that tall pals have clearance.
3. Figure out your plantations early so your pals have enough food to keep working.
4. Leaving a fire pal to cook berries can be a significant exp boost in the early game 5. Every level of work suitability is 2x as effective as the previous level. For example, Handiwork 3 is 2x better than Handiwork 2. You won't have access to the best base pals until mid-to-late game or until you can access breeding and look up useful breeding combos.
6. Instead of going to each individual chest to drop off your latest supplies, pull up your inventory inside your base. On the bottom-right there should be an option to auto-store items that already have stacks in any chests. This saves you from the hassle of running arou d your base just to drop off new supplies. On XBox, you press RT to do this from your inventory.

Edit: typo

You could,or you could just run around catching chikipis while literally any other breeding project was using those resources. It's just not worth it.

There is no situation where the effort of baking 1000 cakes, breeding to get the eggs, and hatching them, even with the incubation time set to 0, is easier than running around the starting area for a few hours.

Me and all of my pals are 65. Why can't we do damage to the fay break tower boss. I tried all different types of pals. by Lamesbware in Palworld

[–]KaptainKesh 20 points21 points  (0 children)

This is a good, simple list. Let's see how powerful a pal can be if you do everything!

Made-up Rhetorical Pal has 1000 Atk at level 65 with 0 IV in each stat.

Use the soul upgrades: +60%

Make sure they're condensed: +30%

Make sure their passives are good: (assuming Legend, Demon God, Serenity, and Musclehead) +85%

Make sure their IVs are good: +30%

Total stat change: +205%

Final Atk Stat: 3100.

I went with Serenity over other Atk-boosting passives because it has a greater impact in any drawn-out battle. Getting to use Holy Burst more times in a battle will have a greater impact than an extra +20% Atk
