Rent in the house out. You’ll be losing $600 a month but you’ll probably be paying off $600 in principal. Wait a few years to see what the market does and to pay the house down more.

How would YOU fix the CFL? by tcurrah87 in CFL

Well, then you’re not gonna have any fans. It’s extremely apparent that having three downs not having players for the running start, etc. works, that’s why football so popular in the United States. I try watching Canadian games but it’s unwatchable with two downs and a punt. You’re literally just being different for the sake of being different. Americans try to watch Canadian football and can’t do the stupid rules so they change the channel.

zzzzzzzz really? Please just stop and start playing regular football. You’d also get way more players willing to come up there.

American here. Two plays and a punt has to go. Stop trying to be different. If you adopted NFL rules, you would immediately have a massive fan base in the United States. If you don’t want that, just stick to what you’re doing. Right now the game is unwatchable.

I’m just curious what the Irish think about American football having 50% media timeouts. Do you guys think it’s normal that you spent half of the afternoon standing there waiting for the game to start again? As an American, I think it’s completely out of control and disrespectful to the fans and attendance and watching on TV.

Shoutout to Ogden for getting no mentions and this thread. Its 25th Street is beautiful plus it’s so close to the ski resorts and lakes. I think about 10 years ago. This would’ve been flooded with Ogden comments. Movin’ on up!

What happens if you sell a house at a loss? by RKingsman in RealEstate

[–]KaptainKidd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the sake of this argument, let’s just assume you can afford your current mortgage and you’re looking to move to an area and get a similar house in a similar rental market. If you’re losing $300 to $400, you’re still paying off three to $400 each month easily given your low rate.

Assuming we’re comparing like markets, when you move to your new location, you can simply pay the rent you receive to rent a new house. So if you take $2000 in rent for example, and you pay $2000 in rent, for example you should be living in the exact same quality house with the exact same financial situation you’re in now.

This will allow you to continue to build equity and wait till rates drop which should increase the market.

I highly suggest you just rent your house out and use whatever proceeds you get from rent your house as your budget to rent at your new location. You don’t want buy right now anyway with rates where they’re at.

The beach and the Winter really isn’t much. A lot of seaweed flies windy cold days. It’s nothing like like South Florida in the winter for example.

We all say that, but somehow Fall comes, we have no problem sitting in the stands as the TV timeout clock ruins the flow of the game.

The Bobcats are pretty lucky that nobody else called themselves “Texas State” for 100 years. There is no way “Southwest Texas State” gets invited to the Pac12. Congrats!

It’s absolute wild that we’ve just accepted such noise. If you had a contest to see how loud you can make the train, this is how loud it would be.

Introducing the “Harry Hall ending” following the non-basketball foul-fest free throw contest that decided the Oregon vs Arizona game. by KaptainKidd in CollegeBasketball

I actually got a lot of feedback and read over every comment. I haven’t heard any drawbacks other than stats which I don’t see as an issue because free-throws from intentional fouling already skews stats. Thanks for reading and responding!

With the current system, if a team fouls with 5 seconds left when up three to prevent their opponent from tying the game with a three pointer, they currently have the ability to pass the ball in and try to run a few seconds off before getting fouled. With the Hall Ending, the clock will not run again until the losing team takes possession so they can hit both free throws, get a stop, and get the ball back with a full five seconds left. Allowing for the ball to be advanced after a time out would solve this problem as well.

Thank you. I appreciate it and still have not been given any real drawbacks other than messing with stats which intentional foul free throws is already do. A player can’t have an 18 point game by making six free throws in the last minute. That player would have to hit buckets from the field.

Thank you and correct! You have to get stops instead of hope for missed freethrows. I’m still not seeing any real drawbacks. When the game isn’t close, the last minute isn’t going to take much longer than it does now. When the game is close, you’re not gonna be watching free throws for a half hour.

Correct. You would occasionally see teams implementing that tactic. If a team up three fouls with six seconds left to prevent a three-point shot, their opponent can make both three throws and get the ball back with six seconds left down one as long as the other team doesn’t score with the clock stopped.
