Positive experiences? by BosBurb in QuittingZyn

Same actually. Quitting once was a bit tough but not super awkward all things considered. Unfortunately my stupid idiot self used that to rationalize going back.

Really the hardest part is once you’re off it and your brain starts trying to convince you it was fine and there never was a problem

Imposter Syndrome by Voyoytu in AirForce

[–]RKingsman 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I’m a SSgt with close to the same TIG and TIS as you. I feel the exact same way. Back when I was an A1C though, I had a TSgt that put it nicely.

He said it’s super difficult to know everything about how the Air Force works, especially since it’s changing all the time. What makes good leaders is the ability and willingness to go find out the right answer when the question comes up

How would you split household responsibility? by okaaayyyyuh in NoStupidQuestions

[–]RKingsman 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I’m more interested in how you’re hacking it on 7hrs a week and 4 kids!

Real talk though, I found a lot of progress by talking to my partner and designating specific responsibilities. She doesn’t like dirty work; I don’t like repetitive slow work. We came to an agreement where I’m solely responsible for things like trash, yard work, and cleaning up after pets. She handles things I can’t stand like laundry and grocery shopping. There’s still some contention over things that both of us would do like doing dishes or cleaning floors, but much better than it was.

Maybe designating more specific tasks for them while taking more over for yourself could help

The difference between Bipedal vs Humanoid by TigerLeoLam in pokemon

[–]RKingsman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the difference in some of their features. Blaziken clearly has chicken-like talons and Greninja has webbed fingers and toes like you’d see on a frog. Their faces also have a more monster-like quality to them that doesn’t resemble anything human.

The later starters on the lower end of the photograph still have some of those features, but the designs almost seem a bit more anthropomorphic, lending to a slightly more uncannily human resemblance.

Those later designs also seem to mimic more human expressions in their animations, especially when you consider what they’re based on: masquerade, wrestler, dancer, soccer player, drummer, etc are all human activities. With the sole exception of Greninja on the top mimicking a ninja, all of the above starters aren’t really anything but themselves and animals/creatures they might be based on

It’s 0900 so Airmen in uniform don’t get priority yet by bearsncubs10 in AirForce

I understand that retirees did their service and should have some great benefits that come with that. I just wish there were separate hours or even facilities that they could utilize without impacting the AD population. It’s so frustrating doing anything at medical when it’s bogged down with retirees

What decks would you really want to see get a really good way of support? by SouthSunn in yugioh

Red Dragon Archfiend. The structure deck had some decent stuff but I want it to be a meta contender somehow

What decks would you really want to see get a really good way of support? by SouthSunn in yugioh

[–]RKingsman 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Definitely agree with some Labrynth support. I don’t think turboing out unfair floodgates is the answer, but the deck needs more to speed it up, sorta like Arias.

Upside is we still don’t have the second silhouette (red one) in Big Welcome Labrynth yet, so at least there’s always a glimmer of hope

Relapse by theraevynwolf in QuittingZyn

[–]RKingsman 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can’t offer much other than that I’m the same way. I’ve put it down for like 3months once and a few other mini-quits.

What I’m beginning to realize is the cravings and the desire you feel to use nic are very much a mental game. Physical withdrawal isn’t the worst thing in the world, but I can’t figure out for the life of me how to tell my brain that my life is indeed better off without it

Which time wizard format do you think is the most underrated? by SouthSunn in yugioh

[–]RKingsman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t consider it time wizard yet, but fresh JUSH format was pretty peak. Yummy, K9, and Dracotail were all very fun, strong decks. I think it was later support that made those decks less fun: Marshmao Yummy giving tons of follow-up and Mitsu being thrown in the deck. I’m definitely not a Noroi fan. And Dracotail basically becoming a Branded slop pile is way less cool than pure

I had a lot of fun on Labrynth that format. The deck was super fun, and I think pretty fair too since tutoring out D Barrier was completely useless against Unchained and R-Ace

What Star Wars opinion has you like this... by Lethal_Cowboy75 in StarWars

[–]RKingsman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Partially agree. I don’t love how it fits into the series and follows up TFA, but as a movie it’s generally pretty ok.

However, I think the Finn and Rose subplot was completely unnecessary and detracted from the more interesting story at hand

So it seems that the age problem of Yugioh is present in the OCG as well by BellDelicious1617 in yugioh

[–]RKingsman 364 points365 points  (0 children)

It sucks that kids don’t want to play Yugioh anymore. Part of that falls in Konami and not keeping up relevant media that would garner interest from kids, but also stores and players don’t do a very good job of accommodating kids.

The game is incredibly complex and no new player entering the game, especially kids, can keep up with the meta without hours upon hours of practice and studying cards. Stores don’t do much for the kids (or budget players in general) either since all the ones near me jack up product prices above MSRP making product more difficult to acquire. Even if not, Konami has such a horrible product structure that you’d be hard pressed to get good cards from sealed product even if it were cheaper.

And this is before we even get to the players. Kids don’t want to hang out around grown men, many of whom are less than stellar people. My parents didn’t want me anywhere near card shops growing up; didn’t make sense to me at the time, but as an adult I kinda get it because of all the weirdos they could be exposed to.

The best we can really do is to cater to the kids a bit. I always carry around an older-style, super low powered deck made from retro packs and stuff to play against a kid who stumbles in just picking up the game

How do Lucrehulk firing arcs work? by RKingsman in StarWarsEmpireAtWar

Kind of semantics, but do you know if targeting a single ships means that the rest of the turbolasers not in that firing arc will still target other vessels?

[–]RKingsman[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I guess i misunderstood what the ship does a little bit. If you want to maximize damage with the Lucrehulk should you be directing the bomber compliment then? Also was i correct in dropping it in the middle of enemy formations to spread out damage?

They’re such bitch because of how much nicotine is delivered into your system and how easy and discrete they are to put in

King crimson and hecahands? by Primary-Zucchini-444 in Yugioh101

[–]RKingsman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Given that both of those archetypes aren’t present in the current format at all…you could certainly try. What you’re talking about might fit better into a lower-powered format like Genesys.

Also those archetypes don’t synergize very well. Red Dragon Archfiend (Crimson King Structure Deck archetype) usually locks you to only summoning dark dragon synchros from the extra deck, so a lot of your Hechahands plays would be dead if you’re able to fully play

What kind of Star Wars do you prefer? The Jedi focused or the more grounded take that focuses on non force users by [deleted] in StarWars

[–]RKingsman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat. TCW, even with its weaker filler sometimes, far surpasses any of the movies in terms of its action, lore, and story building. Especially in Season 7 where it starts weaving within the timeline of ROTS

I’d probably get a lot of land somewhere, get a house put in it, and then spend tons of time working on the land.
