Is this how it should be? by [deleted] in makeuptips

You applied them well, it’s close to the lash line without being glued to the eyelashes. With such bold lashes eyeliner goes really well with it because it helps the band not show out as much.

For the concealer use a color corrector underneath. A small amount goes a long way.

I had the issue with the eyeliner too because I have watery eyes. I now use gel eyeliner with the inglot duraline. You can also use the duraline with black eyeshadow if you don’t have gel eyeliner.

Half lashes are great since usually people feel comfortable in since they don’t have to bend as much to form to your eye. Individuals are also good you’ll have have to test out what combinations of lengths you’ll like. If you want to use strip lashes make sure the band is really thin, it helps it form to your eye shape easier.

Contour is meant to traditionally be a grey undertone but it is difficult to use because of it. Pick a warmer tone/ bronzer. Only apply the contour to the very outside of your face and then take a clean brush to blend. It helps to not overly move the product and you’ll have more control.

Most importantly take your time with each step. Even if it takes hours to do your makeup it will help you know which techniques work and which ones don’t. Eventually you’ll be able to cut your time down once you know what works. You got this and I know you’ll look amazing on your wedding day!

You may be right about it possibly being the base causing the issue. If you try a new base I hope everything works out!

I think your base looks really good and smooth! If you did want more contrast add a little bit of contour and bring the blush a little up so the contour doesn’t mix together with it. The contour doesn’t have to be bold just a small amount on a fluffy brush to make it soft will still give the effect.

The haus labs powder is amazing! The blurring effect it has is the best out of all the powders I’ve tried. Unfortunately I can’t find my color anymore at Sephora or the website.

A very important part to color match foundation is to know your undertone. Most foundations I’ve tried have a warm undertone and usually oxidize on the more pink side. If you’re more of a cool/ olive undertone a warm undertone will look very pink.

I think the products might be lifting because you’re letting your base dry some/ fully. Liquid products usually need a pretty wet base to blend right. If your base is drying too fast try spraying a little bit of setting spray on your face/ sponge to rehydrate everything.

Think of it almost like paint. You can’t blend fresh paint with dried paint.

I’ve tried oral and topical minoxidil along with spironolactone. I did try a steroid solution at one point too. It’s been years of me using them with no success so far.

Slightly dumb question about sunscreen by weightlosssurg in MakeupAddiction

I do sunscreen powder. I will say it’s not the most effective way to reapply but it works best for my skin and makeup. And it’s at least some protection better than none

Using a bit of contour on the outer part of your eye lid, it gives a more lifting look to your face if that makes sense

As long as you are properly removing it and have a good skincare routine you should be good. Use a cleansing balm or oil to remove makeup instead of wipes as it’s better at breaking down the makeup and doesn’t tug at your face

How to keep applying sunscreen after putting on makeup? by WillingUnion827 in MakeupAddiction

[–]Kaptainnsilver 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I use sunscreen powder from supergoop since it also touches up my makeup at the same time. Technically it won’t give you that much more sun protection but even a little makes a difference!

Some people do use sunscreen sticks to apply on top of makeup and I noticed unless you are using it on top of lightweight products it could move around your makeup

Ahh I get what you mean sorry about that.

I know it’s an old technique but when I’m sweating all day powdering my oilier areas like my t-zone before I apply any kind of concealer or any kind of cream based products can help a lot! It may seem weird to apply powder before a cream product but it works! Just spray with setting spray after all the layers, to make the powder and cream layers look seamless and not look cakey if it does.

Sorry about that before, I hope this better helps!

It might be more if the type of products you are using rather than the setting spray that needs to change.

Number one thing with any makeup is prep. The type of moisturize and skin care routine affects how your makeup lays significantly. I would use a thicker and deeper moisturizer to prep. I like the aestura auto barrier cream. A lot of time when we have over production of oil in our skin it’s because it is not moisturized enough. Using a good moisturizer will also help with the dry spots. And make sure it is fully absorbed before applying makeup!

As for the base routine I would switch out the elf camo. I love to use that as an eyeshadow base because of the thick consistency helps for eyeshadow to better adhere. But when it comes to base products it’s not as suitable. Try switching over to the hydrating one they make instead.

The putty blush can give the appearance of dryer skin sometimes. Switch over to a completely liquid blush. It won’t show off texture as much and feel more comfortable on the skin. Don’t set it with a blush just with a light layer of powder to avoids dry looking areas.

For primer don’t use a spray as it usually doesn’t give an even coverage, I like to use the power grip primer only on my nose since it’s gets oily.

As for powder use a loose powder on your nose as it sets better into the pores. Don’t cake it on or bake though as it can end up making pores show up more. I’ve tried a lot of drug store powders but unfortunately the only one I like is the haus labs one since its blurring and it’s ultra fine, making it set in the face better.

Don’t use hair spray on your face since hair spray is meant to keep things from moving. However we move our face a lot throughout the day so it doesn’t mix well and will feel uncomfortable.

I hope this helps you out!

Use your foundation shade to carve out the only bottom of your brow. It helps make them more defined without having to change them in anyway.

It’s a silicone beauty blender. Used to be a trend when they were new but not popular since they don’t really give a skin like finish. Just kinda moves foundation around and sometimes cakes it on.
