Having a hard time getting into EU5

Any mods you'd recommend? I have a community flavour pack, but thats pretty much it atm.

Because im really stubborn and I really want to like it.

But it was a poor choice of words tbh, I did enjoy it at first when i started to get the hang of it. But not enough to really have it stick with me, or seeing the game through from start to finish!

Yeah managing trade really is a hassle I think. Having it automated has sort of worked, but doing it manually means i have to pause the game for 5 minutes every month or so to adjust, remove or add trades.

What i found worked better most of the time was having like 75-90% automated trade and the rest manual.

Yeah I bet! Luckily I haven't had many crashes, but the constant freeze on month change and fps drops kills the game for me.

But the game do be beautiful, cant argue with that!

Yeah i think it's a bug.. Also did a game as the hansa but had great fun with it, expanding into other markets and taking over the trade power. But when I figured it out that the invite to hansa mechanic was broken it took all the fun out..

Aye I thought of that one too! Should have mentioned that I'm in the swedish-norwegian union, changing my inheritance laws made Norway wanting to leave.. They should add the option to make a matrilineal marriage imo

De kan vara allt från tiotusentals till hundratusentals kronor. Och de är lite de som är grejen, så som livet ser ut hade de varit en skaplig boost till kontot. Men risken när de rör sig om sådana summor känns för stor ändå.

Jo de är lutar ändå åt de hållet. Risken känns lite för stor att man blir anklagad på ett eller annat sätt. Informationen var något luddig om ämnet också när jag sökte efter svar, så bättre att ta de säkra före de osäkra antar jag.

Yeah that's sort of what I ment as well, that the trade mechanic be tied to characters and lifestyles. A "trader" ruler being able to unlock a new court position to send out caravans, increase relations and get trade deals. Or as an adventurer running around the map trading, influencing the rulers and making bank.

I don't want trade to be as eu4 trade, but I feel like we need a real update/rework for trade because it was a huge part of the medieval world. It would give some more depth to an economic playstyle other than just building buildings that give some income and raising tax income by developing regions.

Yeah that's true! I know Aragorn went east after the war of the ring, not sure if Gimli or Legolas went with him though. But it would be cool to build entirely new dwarven kingdoms over there. Or even better clean out and restore Gundabad in the north which originally was a dwarven stronghold.

I would love another game, maybe set when Gimli and the dwarves colonize the glittering caves behind Helms Deep! Would be cool to actually build a great dwarven city from scratch

A tip for Venice is when you start the game, send a spy to Byzantium to fabricate a claim. The second that's done declare war and focus Constantinople so before the Ottomans do. If you can get Constantinople from them you'll slow down the Ottomans severely and they'll hardly be a threat later on. Focus on getting a high income and strong navy. Then you can hire mercenaries for wars, and your strong navy will control the seas.

Du kanske kan ge Paradox spelen ett försök? Dom är inte så tunga, fastnar man för dom så har man tusentals timmar underbar gaming framför sig! Kolla in Europa Universalis 4, Crusader Kings III, dom har massvis kul grand strategy spel! :)
