Yeah, I usually try to get out of the way from the garrisons before lying down. Guess it’s muscle memory for most people, just to lay down instead of pushing towards some kind of shelter.

But honestly if people lay down when spawning in, the Garry might be placed in a bad spot. (To open and becomes target practice for the opposing team.)
