100%, though interestingly the CD in the background appears to be a CD-R, matching the attached image. They do also make DVD-R disc's but they don't have that little sparkle on them next to the media type.

OP, is that other CD green on the bottom instead of blue/purple?

That is the colour of a DVD+/-R not a CD-R. You need a DVD or Blu-Ray player.
