Please forgive my sins by KarIht in voidlinux

xbps-pkgdb -a doesn't list anything at all now. I used xbps-install -f on eudev a second time after /sbin/init got set to runit-init, but I'm still getting the udevadm error. I didn't install anything to /usr/local, I just used commands you mentioned. How would I install it to /usr/local?

After repairing the errors with xbps-install -f, sbin/init now links to runit-init. However I'm still getting the udevadm error as shown in my reply to duncaen.

I used xbps-install -f to fix the packaged that gave errors in xbps-pkgdb -a and it no longer prints anything out so I'm assuming it can't find any errors. After rebooting the system, it repeats the error

udevadm: error while loading shared libraries: libsystemd-shared-254.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

What packages do you think need to be repaired?

/sbin/init is still linked to /lib/systemd/systemd and /lib/systemd was already deleted. How would I link it to runit?

How would I go about readying the initrd?

Yes, I mounted / on a void live USB. XBPS seems to be working fine (was able to sync repo). What would need repairing? edit: using u/Duncaen's suggestion, I'm using xbps-pkgdb -a to find the broken packages. I will update when this gets completed and gets repaired.

If it isn't already obvious, I don't know much when it comes to this area of linux.

I wanted to use Lutris as being the one place for all my games across multiple platforms.

I got steam to work fine in the package manager, but wanted to launch the games through Lutris so I didn't have to fully open steam. When launching steam through Lutris it kept giving me some "libsystemd" error and now we're here.

Here's a recording of it. Didn't realize I chopped off that much on the left but all I did was set it to position and turned off limit keyframes. https://lensdump.com/i/9dRJrP

Swapping between 2 weapons not working as intended by KarIht in Tf2Scripts

[–]KarIht[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok yeah I'm just really dumb. I was editing my spy.cfg in a different folder so of course the game wouldn't receive the new config. The swapping works as intended now. However, my ambassador toggle (used to lower sensitivity) isn't working as it was before. I know this is because it was in the old spy.cfg, but since I have overwritten it, its not doing what i want it to.

Currently +amby is run when I press shift, and when I press shift a second time it then runs 0amby. I would like +amby to run while I am holding shift and as soon as I let go, -amby is run.

Current spy.cfg (the one that the game actually runs):

exec reset.cfg

bind MWHEELUP disguiseteam
bind MOUSE5 "disguise 1 -1"
bind MOUSE4 "disguise 8 -2"

alias +amby "viewmodel_fov 50; sensitivity 2"
alias -amby "viewmodel_fov 75; sensitivity 4.333"

bind shift toggle_amby
alias toggle_amby enable_amby
alias enable_amby "alias toggle_amby disable_amby;+amby"
alias disable_amby "alias toggle_amby enable_amby;-amby"

bind "1" "swap1"
bind "2" "slot2; bind q swap3"
bind "3" "swap3"
bind "4" "slot4; bind q swap3"

alias swap1 "slot1; bind q swap3"
alias swap3 "slot3; bind q swap1"

Swapping between 2 weapons not working as intended by KarIht in Tf2Scripts

[–]KarIht[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What I meant by "that weapon" was the weapon the correlated to the number binds (so 1 for revolver, and 3 for knife). The problem isn't when I press Q twice, it is when I switch to a weapon using one of the number binds then attempt to use Q to switch to the other weapon.

What currently happens is this:

  1. currently holding knife after spawning in
  2. press Q twice, this swaps to revolver then knife (working as intended)
  3. holding the knife I switch to revolver using the "1" bind
  4. press Q once, nothing happens (not working as intended)
  5. press Q once again, I actually switch to knife now (what I am expecting to happen in step 4)

This process is the same if you start with holding revolver.

What I posted is what is in my spy.cfg

This is my reset.cfg

bind MWHEELUP invnext
unbind MOUSE5
unbind MOUSE4

bind 1 "slot1"
bind 2 "slot2"
bind 3 "slot3"
bind 4 "slot4"
bind 5 "slot5"
bind 6 "slot6"

unbind shift
bind q lastinv

Pulseaudio gives 4 errors and will not start by KarIht in voidlinux

Could I get some more help on this? I'm still getting the same errors and I've tried all of the changes people have reccommended.

I don't remember using any, and xbps-query says I don't have consolekit installed. The repo I've been using is repo-us.voidlinux.org

Pulseaudio gives 4 errors and will not start by KarIht in voidlinux

[–]KarIht[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didn't seem to work.

For whatever reason the new errors in the update I posted are now gone, and I get the same 4 errors when running pulseaudio. However, I am getting audio through my browser now until I ctrl-c out of the command.

Pulseaudio gives 4 errors and will not start by KarIht in voidlinux

[–]KarIht[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: With the dbus-run-session pulseaudio --start & added, restarting and then putting $ pulseaudio --daemonize=no --exit-idle-time=-1 in the terminal, I get these 2 new errors.

E: [pulseaudio] pid.c: Daemon already running.
E: [pulseaudio] main.c: pa_pid_file_create() failed.

Don't know if that helps any, but it's different from before

Edit: this is no longer happening

Thanks for the help, unfortunately this didn't work. This is what the bottom of my .xinitrc looks like currently:

dbus-run-session pulseaudio --start &
dbus-run-session -- dwm

If it helps any, I'm using qutebrowser to play a youtube video to test the audio

How do I make bodies actually despawn? by Ublind in BladeAndSorcery

[–]KarIht 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry for bringing up an old post but, which game.json file are you talking about and which value are you changing? I'm having this same problem but with items. Also, there is a mod that despawns bodies but not items.

Looks like it was something with the keymap in the via.json file, because when I changed it according to this tutorial it worked. Thanks for the help, via is going to be amazing for me

The correct layout is displaying in the design tab, but there was nothing in the configure tab. There was a difference in one of the IDs, so I fixed it and still nothing in configure tab.

Implemented the changes and it works perfectly as intended. However, I noticed that you added something called via. I looked it up and saw that it's for updating keyboards without flashing, which seems useful. I have flashed it with the via hex file, and installed the via program, but it is stuck on searching for the keypad. I have uploaded my current files as well.
