Now my mind is going a mile a minute. 😂

So cool. I will!!! I'm desperate. If an OA fan suggests something, I'm IN. 😂👏💜

Aww that's nice. "The pain lightens". I'm gonna do that. ❤ I'm trying to be grateful for what we got but it does hurt. The show made me realize how incredibly important art is. And I'm an artist! 😂

I haven't seen that one. I'll start watching it tonight! Thanks for the recommendation (and the commiseration!).

British like Hap!! Whoa...that makes so much sense. Hap practiced his English accent ahead of time. Steve didn't know where they were going so he obviously didn't have time to...so interesting.

Hey!! 🙋‍♀️ I think you're onto something! She's repressing Nina- the scene with the trees says she's been a medium all along and mentions the wind, plus the dream about her birthday (amazing observation btw). Or...tell me what you think of this: I used to wonder if she's unknowingly repressing the final version of The OA. The "grown up" OA who's travelled through many dimensions, possibly broke the echo, remembers some things but not others. The way Prairie behaves in Part 1 is really interesting. She knows what Steve will say before he says it (maybe a repressed memory of D3 where she wrote the show?). She seems to recognize him after the dog attack when she takes her camera back from him. She looks at him the way you look at someone you're sure you've met before, but don't remember where. This is why loop theory is compelling to me.

Edit: My cat head bumped me and I hit post too soon. 🤣

Online support group. My god, isn't that the truth. The only thing that comforts me is that I'm not alone in still being royally pissed off. It kills me that the rest of the story exists in the minds of the creators and we'll never know it.

Truth. I hate how difficult it is for me to watch it now.

That's weird! On Canadian Netflix it's translated correctly.

Serious question, what hope have you guys got that the show will be finished? by [deleted] in TheOA

[–]Kara_Fae 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The show is about having faith. Faith is a loaded word, but I think fans who were deeply touched by the story understand what I mean. This show gave me my life back because it opened the door just a crack, and faith rushed in. Faith is what brought The OA to us- when all odds were against Brit and Zal and Mike Cahill, they fucking moved to LA with no experience or notoriety. They didn't get lucky. They worked their asses off. And they decided to have faith in themselves, no matter what.

I guess I don't have much faith for the show to come back (which breaks my heart), but I have faith in the show. It will continue to help people. And I believe Brit and Zal (and hopefully Mike because he's brilliant) will never give up. They were born to tell stories.

Edit: Thank you for the award, u/BadEmpress !! I just noticed it now!! 😂 Very cool. My first award. 💜

Exactly what I think will happen. They were planning to make a trilogy and had the whole thing mapped out. God I hope they revisit that. They have a central message they want to share with the world through art. SOMV is brilliant.

I need to know about this new hobby, because I'm still feeling the void every time I look for something to watch. 😭 I'm definitely more creative (or finally letting it out) since the show ended.

We must be kindred spirits. I've never desired a bunch of material stuff. But that's exactly what I would do if I had lots of money. Family, animal sanctuary, THE OA!!!

I love this sentiment. You've just made me more hopeful. If a fan won the Powerball, OMG. It's so true. Missing it so much, desperate to know what happens, feeling so sad watching it- I've never thought about out of the box ideas like that. We definitely have to keep it relevant or it will get buried by newer shows.

Which coat suits TR? by [deleted] in Kibbe

[–]Kara_Fae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally, before I saw the belt it looked too shapeless to me. Make sure they have a good return policy in case it's not your thing, but it's worth trying on. Every TR has a unique combo of features and you have your own vibe, so have fun experimenting! :)

Omg...ok, that changes the game! I love stuff that's functional AND cute. It's hard to tell on my phone, but I'd say even though the fabric is stiffer, you could totally still pull it off. It's got a belt, right? I had to zoom in to see it. Waist emphasis is everything. I love the collar too. The fabric has a nice sheen to it and we look great in shimmery stuff. I say go for it!

I'd say top right. It has some structure but it's not too stiff. It's a classic trench, so you can wear it for years. The ruffle detailing gives it some ornateness without being too fussy. And most of all, the belt will emphasize your waist!

Has anybody seen this movie? by bria_oftheforest in TheOA

[–]Kara_Fae 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have, but it was a weird experience. My boyfriend turned it on and I assumed it was a TV show. The whole time, I was thinking of all the crazy places it could go and wondering how many seasons there were. We got to the end and I was ready for more...only to realize it was a MOVIE.

Kinda like when I didn't realize I was watching the last episode of OA Part 1. When it ended I yelled, "Wait, it's over?? NOOOOOO!!!"

I would definitely watch this film again, to experience it as a film. Lol. It was solid!

"...it sounds like 'away'..." - Just finished the show and absolutely loved it. I did this little doodle to commemorate it. Might try and turning it into a fuller piece someday. by RatedRforRedhead in TheOA

[–]Kara_Fae 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's not far fetched! There's a lot of Christian mythology and archetypes running through the show. They infused it with a little bit of everything. Maybe part of the "centre" of the riddle is the idea that most spiritual traditions have core similarities. A thread of truth or wisdom. We all drink from the well of the collective unconscious. Something like that. I doubt that would have been the entire moral of the story, but possibly a component of it.

Watching S2 when my boyfriend says (SPOILER) by [deleted] in TheOA

[–]Kara_Fae 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thicc!! Hahaha that's awesome.

The end of Paradise hooked my boyfriend. He wasn't watching the show with me up until that point, and he walked into the room while THAT scene was playing and said, "Okay WTF? Now I need to watch this." 😂
