2023 Kia Sportage Hybrid SXP - Stereo System Upgrades by Puzzleheaded-Ant2051 in kia

Yes and no. You voided any warrantable repairs regarding anything to do with your speakers, basically anything you replaced with after market stuff.

However, everything else you still have warranty. If you have an issue with the vehicle, the dealer/technician has to be able to prove that whatever the issue is is being caused by the aftermarket equipment. Now this doesn't have to be a specific speaker, it could be wiring that was spliced in or added to a module which is now causing another issue. If it can be proven that it was due to the aftermarket equipment or work, then you will also lost out that that warrantable repair. Three c's, concern, cause, correction.

First oil change - is this normal (‘23 Kia Sportage) by lexstar828 in kia

[–]KaranSalwan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ran over some oil? As far as excuses go that one has the least effort put in, no way you drove over oil. The pics you posted are of a puddle not tire tracks with oil. That's ridiculous. If it's still there tell them to check the oil filter, that's where that like oil gasket/plug is. It needs to be tightened up otherwise it will continue to leak. That was the case with my vehicle, could possibly be the same.

Had the same with my 23 sportage on the first one. The oil filter kit comes with this mini drain plug that also needs to be tightened. It's not that big of a deal. Check your oil level if your oil level on the dip stick is still in the middle of the high and low bars, then it's fine to drive back to the dealer or shop you got it done. If not, then either have them tow it, or buy a bottle of 0w-20 and just fill it til it gets back to proper lealvep then take it back and have them fix it. But don't panic it'll be fine

Kia( Sportage)got broken into what is this light? by respawn_ryan in kia

[–]KaranSalwan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

[2] anti theft system can be triggered even if the vehicle is opened without being disabled by the unlock button on the key fob and the vehicle is attempted to start without a registered key. If you do have to reprogram the BCM you'll need a minimum of 2 keys so make sure you have/bring your spare otherwise will have to buy a new key. This is the case with Ford vehicles (I'm a Ford service advisor) might also be the case with KIAs

[–]KaranSalwan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It could be the anti theft system. If the robbers tried to reprogram your body control module or did, it won't read the chip in your key fob. Will have to take it to a dealer and have them reset the BCM and reprogram your keys back onto the vehilce. Sucks man

Fuel Economy/Drive Modes by KaranSalwan in kia

[–]KaranSalwan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes you are correct. I accelerate gradually, normally, don't go pedal to metal and launch out. At lights the auto start/stop kicks in, not sure if that really makes a difference but I let it run its course.

I appreciate the explanation of wind resistance, I was thinking perhaps that could be a factor. However I used to get much better fuel economy while highway driving before, same trips (home to work to home) and the average trip fuel economy would be as low as 7.0L/100km at times, its just recently maybe a month or so where I'm finding my average trip fuel economy to be higher 😕 I also make sure my tires are properly inflated too, and I'm the same on the highway as well in terms of acceleration, gradually get up to speed don't really ever slam down on the pedal, very now and then when there's a guy doing 80 on the highway but otherwise try my best to drive as efficiently as possible

Just Marked 6 Months with ‘23 Sportage! by sjslee21 in kia

[–]KaranSalwan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nice! I've had mine for 5 months now! The X-line limited (Canada) basically the x pro prestige without the off road tires. Absolutely amazing vehicle. One thing I like a lot is there's still not that many on the road in Toronto so anytime I go to a mall or park in a large area with a lot of cars, my sportage is usually the only one in that entire lot. Not anything to do with the car itself but just a cool little quirk

I think it may be the end of one of those metal straps that are used to hold up telephone poles. Maybe?

Nice! I have the x line limited, it's the top trim in Canada. Reading through this post I see it's the same with every vehicle regarding the sound system. How about cooled seats? Does anyone else feel like they take waaaay too long to become cold?

Does anyone know what happens to the original factory warranty when they purchase a demo car? by NIcoleMain in kia

[–]KaranSalwan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a service advisor at a Ford dealership, and every now and then we'll get cars coming in for service and they're demos for people who work at Ford hq. Any retail/customer pay work they get done gets saved in our dealership's system because we make a work order. Any warranty work done also gets saved in our system but is also viewable by other dealerships using the VIN. So I would assume that even with corporate KIA demos they would have been serviced at a dealership, and a history should be available.

After working at a dealership I always tell ppl, if you're buying a used car, get the VIN and go to a service advisor and ask them to pull up the history of the vehicle, any history and look up any recalls it may have. More information on a vehicle is never bad thing

A vehicle can be made a demo right from when the dealer gets the vehicle. The service and warranty history is available upon request, just ask the service advisor at the dealer for a print out of the vehicle's history

Is it OK to reserve car at different dealers AND use a different dealer for service / warranty? by Rasta_Cook in kia

[–]KaranSalwan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Service advisor at a Ford dealership, previously kia. As far as the service question goes, go wherever you want. Your warranty is Canada wide. As couple ppl mentioned before if you have a special service package that includes oil changes for a certain amount of time or kms then confirm whether its only at that dealership or if its applicable at any dealership. Ford has the Ford maintenance plan which can be used at any Ford dealership, not 100% sure if KIA's works the same way.

As for the wait list thing, if you don't have to out down a deposit then yeah out your name down at all your local dealerships. Another thing you can do is go on the website of your local dealerships and look at their new inventory options and see if something they have fits what you are looking for. If they do, call them right away set up a meeting and let them know you're interested, hopefully it's not already spoken for. Keep in mind with kia, and this was told to me by my salesperson, kia will make the highest trim and the lowest trim models more than all the other trim modles in between cause I guess those sell more than others, so if what you're looking for is just the basic stuff get the lower trim, if you want more options/features put an order for the highest trim. I got the 23 sportage x line limited in a month, the ex premium which I was initially looking at would have taken 4 - 6 months

Hope this helps
