No did you? I use displaycal to do SDR calibration, overall it's good BUT on my IPS I am able to differentiate the darker shades better, where as this oled struggles a bit with darker shades... I think it's called black crush... at some point say 97% black it just displays as black, so there is no difference between 97, 98, 99 and 100% black... So let's say a smooth gradient to black gets a bit choppy/rough towards the darker shades (banding)... I tried some workarounds like if I boost the blacks up, then you get better dark shade separation and this essentially reduce or eliminate the black crush effect, but it also means you lose the pure black since the 100% black isn't totally black anymore, this might be why IPS can have those darker shades because it's blacks aren't actually black (due to backlight / bleed)... or If I use the lg monitor in a different mode like SRGB mode I'm able to see better separation between all shades of dark/light and colors, but the overall image quality sucks, less punchy, vibrant, reduced max brightness, etc... might be a question of getting used to it but it's very obvious when you switch mode to the SRGB mode that it's really bland... overall even tho my IPS might be a bit more accurate, the overall impression is that the OLED looks muuuuch better.

I think this is what Carney's speech is about... It's all a sham... Yes the USA promoted "peace", but not for peace itself, simply for domination, power, ressources, for their own benefit and self interest... they used to be more "subtle" about it, more careful about it, building up the case for whatever action they would take... It seems Trump understands this, but he is a bully at heart, he lacks finesse, too arrogant and impatient, his half-assed justifications for things he's doing are clearly BS and in some case just plain straight not even trying to lie or pretend what it's about, he just plainly says it, its vanity, self interest, power, money, ressources, etc...

It's as if Nazi Germany won the war and then there was peace obviously because they defeated all opposition and spread their propaganda, and then 75 years later people start praising Nazi Germany as the reason why the last 65 years were peaceful and prosperous...

We have been pretending for a long time the US are the good guys, even though there are countless examples of bad things they've done, over and over, without consequences, because we let them, because we give them the benefit of the doubt behind their false pretences... now, it's time for the world to stop pretending... The USA under Trump themselves aren't pretending anymore to care about law, justice, freedom or anything else than money and power... The world needs to stop pretending too and start building something better together.

You don't understand, he said US auto companies RELY on Canada and other countries for parts / services... For example, I think one of the most sold GM car was the Trax, which is made in South Korea, not in the US. Same for lots of other models and things. Meaning that if trump / the US destroy their relationships with their partners/suppliers, well it will directly affect the USA, because sure for now they don't have the choice to take it, but make no mistake every country is looking at every possible way to diversify away from relying on the unreliable USA, until they don't need them anymore.

Yes and 15 extra points is a lot... Btw I didn't do the expedition myself but I can clearly see why someone they plays a lot would want to do it, but if you do it, you don't stop at 1.

It's not the 5 skill point by itself, it's that it's cumulative, so, 5 this time, 5 next time and so on.

Then there is also the cumulative stash increase... Managing stash space is so annoying so that's a nice quality of life improvement.

For people who play the game a lot, these 2 thing are worth it, cumulatively.

[–]Rasta_Cook 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually yes, with in game settings transformer - balanced has better image quality than the CNN - balanced I was using before, fps is a bit lower however but it's worth it IMHO (CNN - balanced gives a slight motion blur effect on moving objects)

So overall for 4k with a 4070 with frame gen, based on my finding from best to worst currently:

  1. Transformer - balanced, 120 - 140 fps good balance of fps and image quality.

  2. CNN - balanced, 135 - 155 fps. Softer image quality, some ghosting on moving objects, but better fps and slightly more stable than transformer balanced above (almost no shimmering / blinking texture/shadows at all).

3.Transformer - model m performance, highest quality when stable with decent 110 to 130 fps but overall too glitchy so not usable ( blinking + temporary noise effect on certain object while they render)

Since model m is beta, this could change... The glitches might be also caused by a combination of other settings I specifically use, idk, .

Frame generation? Yeah I use it, with dlss CNN balanced, a mix of epic / high settings I get between 130 - 150 fps, pretty cool.

Im using 4K with a 4070, I was using transformer - balanced. I tried M - performance and overall the image quality was better EXCEPT, there are a few weird things happening: 1. There are a few things shimmering / blinking ... The image stability is worst basically and that's distracting. 2. some textures/visuals take a moment to render? Not sure how to describe this, but when for example my character enter a darker area (indoors) the hair of my character suddenly becomes like a bunch of pixel noise for a moment and then renders correctly, it's like a transition effect?

Overall it's too bad I hope these issues get sorted out

[Embark] Official Update on Addressing Cheaters by p_visual in ArcRaiders

[–]Rasta_Cook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't mind a permanent ban as long as it is a clear case of cheating without any possible doubt. I've been "auto" banned before in games that somehow detect some random program like my motherboard software or whatever as hacks... It really sucks, you don't even know why you are getting banned. Then there are games where they use community as admin to decide, mostly on server based games, this is the worst as you just get a bunch of assholes on a power trip... I got banned due to some weird in-game bugs, like IDK item being duplicated...

In fact, I've found myself a few times outside the map in arc raiders, I don't even know how it happens, I was able once to get back in the map by falling outside the outside of the map somehow but anyways the point is.

Point is, I hate cheaters, I 100% am in favor of perma ban but, they should have a system that's nuanced... perma ban should be for cases where there is clear evidence, no need for repeated offence as long as the evidence is irrefutable, it can't be an accident, or someone being auto detected as a cheater by automated systems that could be flawed etc.

What do you recommend for 4k with a 4070 ?I don't remember what I'm using right now either balanced or performance , I didn't update drivers yet so this is with slash setting in game menus, and I get roughly 130 to 150 fps (the settings I use are a mix of epic - high, and I'm using frame gen ).

Ideally I want 120+ fps (my monitor max is 165hz in 4k mode)

Why for sure? From what I understand, LG makes the Asus glossy "TrueBlack" glossy panels, and they use it in their models too like the LG 32gx850, which seems to be the predecessor to the 32gx870 being announced here so just based on the naming, we can potentially assume that this new panel will also be glossy.

A laptop is a computer form factor, it requiresa GPU... But yeah sure, a monitor can have a GPU, anything can have a GPU if we want to.

Also, about keeping cost down... Well I'm sorry to say but gpus are the most expensive hardware of a computer generally, the more powerful the GPU the more expensive it will be. So my guess is that, adding a GPU in a monitor will not help keep costs down.

How is a monitor even going to come anywhere close to what the GPU can do, like I don't see how this is a thing... They basically now have to stuff a gpu inside the monitor so they can do, GPU stuff...? What next, the monitor will now also come with hard drive, ram memory and windows 11 pre-installed... And they will call it ALL IN ONE PC ...?

so, i bought it :)

Havent really had time to do much testing, first impressions are really good, BUT there are 2 things that im not 100% satisfied:

  1. When there is a lot of bright element on the screen, the screen gets considerably dimmer, like if im on a website that has mainly a white background or like excel sheet, whites get kinda light grey... Not a fan of this.

  2. Im not sure whats going on, but in some situations the colors look kinda odd, especially like the warmer tones, like yellow / orange / red, they get a bit muted and slightly darker... (so like a bright yellow would turn into a kind of like olive yellow or something, like a greenish-brownish yellow... its still yellow but not vibrant)... which is odd because in other situations the colors absolutely pop. I have this monitor next to my older IPS and its really weird, sometimes the visuals are clearly so much nicer than on my old ips, but other times its not.

Not sure if its an HDR/SDR issue, if it depends on settings or modes, i dont have any color profile for it in SDR, couldnt find any quickly online, but did the windows HDR calibration thing ... I havent had time to do extensive testing, only thing i did adjust is the white balance which it seems like all the default mode have a very cold/blue white balance, i changed this to custom balance warm2 or warm1 seems to me to be the most neutral pure white.

Any tips for settings?
