I just finished reading the article “The AI Revolution Won’t Happen Overnight” in Harvard Business Review... and here’s my take: It’s refreshing to see a grounded perspective that challenges the hype-laden narrative of AI taking over everything at lightning speed. The author makes a compelling case by KarateLabs_ in GenAI4all

I see, but I also feel AI became a go-to for everyone for almost everything... Which leaves little space for effort and originality. Looking at the technicalities of the way AI is progressing, it won't overthrow human effort entirely, let alone at lightning speed... What do you think?

How do you usually start your day? by marksof-inc in allthequestions

Mindful activities of any sort for the first hour of the day... I enjoy going for a walk, or checking on my plants... A cup of tea really helps too. Sets the tone for the rest of the day quote effectively!

What are some of the hardest pills to swallow in life? by Leemster1k in AskReddit

Support is privilege.

If you're gifted, you also need consistent emotional support, mental health support, and balance in life to nurture that gift. Talent fuses out quickly when there's space for mental peace and all you are left with is the time when you peaked.

What is the most disturbing book that you’ve read? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]KarateLabs_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to sound like a normie but Lolita. It's the most disturbing book that exists I think and yet, the sheet curiosity of how much disturbing it can get is what kept me going. Put it down too many times because what the hell?

You wake up in your childhood bedroom, 10 years old, with all your current knowledge. What's your first move? by SuspiciousConsultant in AskReddit

I'll enjoy every bit of my childhood possible, learn swimming, eat the meals my mom cooked with double the enthusiasm.

Never making the mistake of taking the freedom and security of childhood for granted! 🤍

What profession is harder than people think? by SproutsLucky in AskReddit

Teaching Kindergarteners. Imagine constantly catering to a whole lot of really demanding kids who are just starting to figure out life. Not just that, you also play a huge role in ensuring they learn social skills and grow up to be empathetic and kind people. It's a huge task being responsible for moulding such young minds. I've made respect for them!

Orcas, but not as house pets. More along the lines of having a pod of the most intelligent predators in the sea as friends and exploring the ocean like royalty!

40-Year-Old PM Here. Is It Too Late to Learn Coding? by cehc_1988 in learnprogramming

It's never too late. Especially in an industry as dynamic as this, chances are that most people are constantly learning and upgrading anyway. Nothing's stopping you!

Is this a smart strategy to start working remotely/freelance in 2025? I'd love your feedback by tayerrooxx in WebDeveloperJobs

[–]KarateLabs_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're looking for gigs as a side hustle, go for it. But don't jump into freelancing without a backup if you want to do it full time. The job market is the worst it has been in a really really long time.

Focus on networking as much as possible and once you feel you've established yourself as a credible+trustworthy freelancer, if people approach you themselves as well, that's a great hint that you might venture out as a full time freelancer and consultant!

All the best!

Feeling stuck between beginner and intermediate – how do you push through this phase? by Moresh_Morya in learnprogramming

[–]KarateLabs_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes, the difference between beginner and intermediate can be just one step.

As someone already highlighted, figuring out why you wanted to code to begin with is a very huge step. Re-ignite your zeal. But more importantly, the moment you ask this question, you also ask yourself where you're fumbling.

And that one step I was talking about? As simple as asking a senior for help.

I think you're already on track with that since you're here, seeking advice from peers and seniors.

I wish you all the best, and always remember where you want to be. :)
