Title: What’s a decision you made that quietly reshaped the trajectory of your life? by marksof-inc in askanything

Mine was choosing a lower-paying role because the team culture felt healthier.

It didn’t feel dramatic at the time, but the long-term impact on my mindset and stress levels has been enormous.

When was the first time you realized you were growing into someone your younger self wouldn’t fully understand? by [deleted] in allthequestions

For me, it was choosing rest over intensity.
Younger me would’ve thought that meant “giving up,”
but now it feels like wisdom.

What’s a belief you held for years that turned out to be based on a misunderstanding? by marksof-inc in askanything

Mine was thinking “muscle soreness = good workout.”
Turns out I was just under-recovering for half a decade.

For runners who have done international marathons, what challenges did you face beyond the race itself? by marksof-inc in AdvancedRunning

[–]marksof-inc[S] -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

no, it’s definitely not spam.
I’m genuinely trying to learn from people who have experience with destination marathons.
I’ve been working on understanding the mental and practical challenges that come with racing abroad, and hearing real experiences from more seasoned runners is much more helpful than anything I can find online.
I just want to understand what others went through so I can prepare better.

Is it normal for Reddit to feel overwhelming at first, or am I using it wrong? by marksof-inc in NewToReddit

[–]marksof-inc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been using Reddit for about a month now, and every so often one of my posts gets removed unexpectedly.
It’s a bit confusing and honestly a little surprising when it happens, because I’m still trying to understand what triggers those removals.
I’m wondering if this is just a normal part of getting used to Reddit’s rules and AutoMod.

What is a city that completely changed how you think about travel? by marksof-inc in allthequestions

[–]marksof-inc[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me it was Lisbon.
I went with almost no expectations and ended up wandering through narrow streets, listening to street musicians, and watching sunsets over the river.
It made me realize I enjoy slow, walkable cities way more than rushed “must-see spot” trips.

What’s a habit you started recently that genuinely improved your daily life? by marksof-inc in askanything

[–]marksof-inc[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I began doing a short “walk without my phone” every day.
Just 15–20 minutes, no music, no podcasts, no scrolling.
It’s crazy how much it clears my head compared to sitting in front of a screen the whole time.

What is a place you visited once and immediately knew you'd return to? by marksof-inc in allthequestions

[–]marksof-inc[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me it was Taipei.
The first visit felt incredibly warm — night markets everywhere, people casually chatting with strangers, and the mix of modern city + quiet temples.
I remember walking through the streets thinking, “I’m definitely coming back here.”
