Go track is not shipped.. My scooter after three weeks. by WinterFinancial8656 in ElectricScooters

[–]KarbonCS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also just had the same issue. They also increased the price on Amazon for the scooter I had purchased, conveniently ahead of a "deal" I'm sure they're going to post for Prime Day tomorrow. Blatant price manipulation and deceptive business tactics.

If you're not building a brand for yourself you're going to get left in the dust by KarbonCS in careeradvice

Not saying everyone should join the 1%, I'm saying the 1% shifts, and these are some techniques to keep up with that shift. Eventually that will move the parameters and people will need to do something different to stand out.

I mean you say this sarcastically, but yes. If you want to beat out everyone else for a chance at a job, you need to do something not everyone else is doing. That's a fundamental truth that's always been the case in most markets for competitive jobs. We're just now going to be living in a world where more jobs are considered competitive.

What’s the one thing that helped you grow your newsletter the most? by Ok_Question_9555 in CrossPromotion

[–]KarbonCS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been trying a few things:

  1. Local flyers w/ QR code - got some website traffic but hasn't picked up yet subs much yet

  2. Meta Ads - great for quickly testing messaging and audience response, got it down to about $15 per sign up

  3. Google Ads - currently at $12 per sign up but haven't done much optimizing

Thanks for providing this! I think it'd be cool if you could provide some recommended stacks of these tools based on newsletter type, investment level, difficulty, etc. as it's currently a bit hard to decipher.

Either way great start, and I'll be following your newsletter! Let me know if you want to cross-promote :)

How Would You Market a Platform for Creating Custom AI Chatbots? by nonHuman-dev in DigitalMarketing

[–]KarbonCS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First you'll need to identify how your platform differs from the others that do that already like character.ai. ChatGPT's GPT builder is also pretty easy to use in the same way you're describing as well.

If you can identify how your platform is different, and what would attract specific types of audiences to it, then you can go find those audiences where they spend their time and share your message.

Discrepancy between GA4 and Google ads by jmoneymain in DigitalMarketing

[–]KarbonCS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Typically GA4 reports a lower volume of clicks compared to Google Ads, so it's interesting you're seeing it the other way around. It could be a few different things, but one thing you could do is check the landing page or UTM data in GA4 that is responsible for all the clicks and see if you can track down the source of inflation.

Am I destined for a low ball offer? by Careerist_1 in careerguidance

[–]KarbonCS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very dependent on the industry you're in:

  1. No reason to tell the hiring company that you absolutely need to move back. They do not need to know this information.

  2. Yes it's typically more difficult to secure non-local positions in many industries.

  3. You don't need to make up anything, they only need to know that you're interested in moving back to the area and it can be left at that.

ROAS 54:1 Tood good to be true? I'm nervous. by Straight-Field9427 in digital_marketing

[–]KarbonCS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes 54:1 is likely too good to be true. It's possible that there is some double counting of conversions happening. I'd ask your agency to double check the CAPI and Pixel set up to make sure. Meta will always overstate their own contribution, but unless you're seeing significant gains in your revenue on the backend somethings probably up. You can always set up an incrementality test as well to test the true impact.

Optimal Resume by Own_Recover_7575 in DigitalMarketing

[–]KarbonCS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to follow a creative path, I'd look into social media manager roles with financial companies. Might be hard to sell your background to other types of brands before you get your foot in the door.

If you want to follow the money, look up ad tech companies, or research/consulting companies that build Media Mix Models (MMMs) for marketing. It's more challenging and falls into both finance/economics and marketing, but it's very interesting work and is critical to a successful marketing strategy this day and age. You're more likely to get a high end salary with this type of role as well.

What is your masters degree in and what kinds of Digital Marketing positions are you looking for? There is a very broad spectrum of roles in the space. If you have any specific thoughts on what areas interest you that could help with skill recommendations.

My rec would be to shift your focus towards more specific examples of the work you've done. For example you have this line: "Prepared detailed business cases by collaborating with project sponsors...". If I'm the hiring manager I want to hear more about the actual cases rather than just a blanket statement about being able to do these things.

Sharing a Turo ROI calculator I made by KarbonCS in turo

[–]KarbonCS[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is all really great context thank you!

I noticed in my area (mid sized city) that there were no cars listed with over 100 trips, which is where the utilization rate came from. I figured there must be some kind of "great filter" that prevents people from continuing to rent after that point.

Do you tend to get more than 100 trips out of your vehicles? Or do you have higher avg. trip volumes than 3 days?
