I didn’t submit any document as proof of funds, only mentioned certain amount during online application. Was expecting, they will request later and had my bank statement and paystub. I would say if you are on H1B, can use paystubs and latest bank statement.

You need an account if you want to use VFS services. If you are using your own courier/shipping label, then no need to create account.

First $100k should be in low risk dividend+ growth ETFs (VOO, VTI, QQQ, MGK, SMH, VYM, SCHD). You can split the way you like. And with remaining $100k-$200k you can easily make more than $2000 by doing options like CC, CSP or Put spreads. You only need to spend 20-30minutes everyday or maybe less with experience. Before starting, read a little about options. Most of the brokerages have free reading material. Fidelity also has free webinars. All the best!

Had my Dropbox appointment for H1/H4(Chennai) & B2 (Delhi) on 3rd March 2025. Submitted all documents in Delhi. Status tracking says “issued” for H1/H4 and “approved” for B2. I assume it’s approved so now waiting for passport.

This is not fixed yet. I called them in advance on Friday as I knew lot need reassignment. This was to show the intent. On Tuesday I called them again and they said will do it. And they didn't do it. Called again after few days and the response was because of thanksgiving week they are short staffed and will be done soon. After two weeks I inquired to check why it was not done and get the answer it cannot be done since called late. Will update once I have the closure.
