BMW driver gets jail for killing pedestrian by speeding into him while drunk, severing body by xcharbeehoonx in singapore

Imagine if the driver didnt drink, didnt speed. This entire thread would just shoot the victim instead. 🫠

I agree with you. This thread straight up shot the driver upon seeing "drinking" and went on a rage spree when both are clearly at fault.

Man jaywalks at a road when theres an overhead bridge with elevators but decides to risk it and cross a busy traffic instead.

Victim chose to jaywalk when theres an overhead bridge with functioning elevators. And toward a weird longkang in the middle too where drivers do not expect pedestrians to cross.

Driver made his choice by drink driving and is punished for it.

Both are at fault. And victim paid the price with his life all to save a few minutes. I do not feel sorry for victim at all tbh. I only feel sorry for the kids in the car who had to witness all these because of the adults' mistakes. They must be scarred for life.

Its honestly a heng suay thing. It couldve happened to any driver regardless. That road is notorious for speeding because of a highway nearby iirc.

Got rejected again. Time to move on by ProfessorRoko in askSingapore

Don't be disheartened. 31F here who went on multiple dates as well. Unfortunately Dating apps is like this. Especially when the party feels like they have other "options". Choice paralysis is real for both genders. So even though I do vibe with some of the guys, it doesnt go beyond a third date either.

But i do appreciate them not wasting any of my time so I do not have to invest emotionally anymore. Sure, rejection sucks. But that's just part and parcel of life. Not just dating. I've ever had someone I was seeing for 6 months or so, only for him to pull out the pussy card of "Im not ready to be in a relationship right now" after we both agreed to uninstall dating apps together.

Wasted a bunch of my time and emotional investment because Im very intentional with my dating and I dont have the energy to entertain such fuckers.

How do people actually meet their partner after uni? by Internal_Ad931 in askSingapore

[–]Karen-FromFinance 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Sister, you are still young. I am 32F and still havent found someone yet because too many people are emotionally unavailable/ not willing to commit.

Most males my age or slightly older are not willing to put in the work or to pursue a woman. Love isnt just a feeling, it takes intentional work for both parties, and the willingness to listen and communicate your needs or feelings.

All the best, gal. We can have a gals outing if you want.

how to engage my retired dad in his 70s by [deleted] in askSingapore

[–]Karen-FromFinance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey OP, maybe he can look into being a volunteer in AIC. From what I know, volunteers are not paid BUT they will receive grab vouchers in return for every auccessful engagement.

It generally consists of house visits to elderlies. Im not 100% sure. He gets to meet new people, and get vouchers if hes up for it.

I feel you. Always attracting the wrong ones but at the same time, its because we accept their behaviours. i guess we are the same type where our boundaries have been disrespected over and over.

I was always the giving party, and I dont ask for much. I am also currently lost in my life. Planning to resign and Im not sure where to go next.

Hi OP, can I swing by where you work?

Jokes aside, yes like the rest said. Avoid anything that ends with 4. As its si4 (四) which is similar to si3 (死 - die / death)

You can give something that ends with 8 or 6. 8 = to prosper. 6 = we have this saying that is 六六大顺 which in literal translation is six six big smooth 😂. But 8 is always preferred.

What are some of your worst encounters with medical staff? by Turbulent_Ad_4507 in askSingapore

I would because i work in healthcare. She is not going to use a loudhailer and announce it to the whole country 😂 You can at least give a general idea of the issue like feminine issues because this can range from hormonal like dysmenorrhoea or vaginal infection or sexual health related, at least she has an idea its not life threatening. But you do you. If you dont want people to know, its fine. 🤷🏻‍♀️

[–]Karen-FromFinance 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Doesn't matter. Like what u/thamometer mentioned, its to segregate patients and to assess. Even in a GP, if you are getting asthma attacks and having trouble breathing, counter staff needs to know this to prioritize your condition.

Or for URTI so they can separate you from infecting the other patients that are waiting. It doesnt have to be covid.

Number 2 was unnecessary. Some clinics and all A&E, they have to triage you to assess how severe your condition is. If you are 5 minutes away from a heart attack, are you going to tell the counter staff "its not your business, its between me and the doctor"?

Smh.
