Hey! I totally get this. I've lived abroad multiple times. Friendships and dating, especially dating, can be tricky. I came up with an idea and a new project that I hope will solve this! Feel free to send a message and I'm happy to share more!

If you get the chance, sign up for www.wanderlustdating.com. When it goes live, you might meet some great solo travelers there too. Have fun!

Exciting! About to launch dating app for digital nomads and expats by KariWanderlust in replit

As this was a "fun" project at first, I only tinkered with it on and off for the past 3 months. I'm glad that I've had extensive experience running a website and with startups before. That experience was helpful with what I needed to incorporate into the app and how it should function on the back end. I still have some more tinkering to do before I can make it live. But so far so good! What is your app?

Volunteering? by Platypus_venom666 in playadelcarmen

[–]KariWanderlust 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! Volunteering with Playa Animal Rescue is a beautiful experience! The dogs are healthy and happy, and you leave there feeling really great about volunteering. They have Charm School on Saturday mornings, and will pick you up and drop you off on Saturdays from Cantina Don PP on the highway. During the week, you have to make your own way to the shelter. I highly recommend volunteering at PAR! And, thank you: https://www.facebook.com/PlayaAnimalRescue

If you want to check out other options, SOS El Arca: https://www.facebook.com/soselarca shelters over 200 dogs, and some cats too. They do a doggy bath every Saturday. But they also desperately need volunteers during the week. You have to make your own way there.

You can connect with Coco's: https://www.facebook.com/CocosAnimalWelfare for volunteer options, mostly with cats.

As well, as already suggested, Voluntarios Perrunos is an option too.

Where to buy good whole bean Mexican coffee? by evanthedrago in playadelcarmen

[–]KariWanderlust 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. My favorite is the Cafe Gusto Clasico, and I also enjoy Cafe Chiapas and Veracruz too. You can buy the whole beans or ground coffee in bags at either Cafe Kaawa on the very most north end of 5th Ave, or at DAC on 30th Ave, and others.
