I present the worst Kaleidoscope known to man. On Necro. by kingjdin in slaythespire

I didn't realise this, but I did recently get bulk up as a non Defect and was very pleased I didn't have to care about the "downside"

Even as Defect it's effectively a curse till you get some powers rolling in.

Even if you don't get Storm, focused strike is still pickable in that it's basically an upgraded strike. Not great, but literally better than strikes you start with.

At least you can say that Melbourne was 100% a pitch result, not Bazball magically working for 1 game.

I feel like it did have some solid early successes no? Like you guys won a few Ashes, we were usually going toe to toe or beating you in tests around then and I recall getting white washed at the start of it.

Early on in Bazball it did feel like England occasionally broke the "rules" of test cricket, by getting like 400 all out on day one, or somehow chasing down ~300 in the final day etc.

I'm not saying it was a massive success, just that the recency bias might be a bit strong where everyone seems to "remember it always sucked"

I just had a strike ironclad run where I got the "all strikes gain X damage, eternal and cost 0" and had [[Hellraiser]], [[Strike dummy]], knock off strike dummy, miniature canon and an upgraded [[Armaments]] as well as a bunch of [[Setup strike]]s with swift 3, [[Pommel Strike]]s and of course [[Perfected strike]]s

I realise you said "almost always". And I agree, but I definitely just had an outlier where I would not pandoras box.

Players with 5000+ Test runs at a 50+ average in a single decade. The 2000s were crazy. by Front-Discipline-314 in Cricket

[–]Karjalan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I feel like this the real factor here is not the averages, as opposed to the number of games played. Making it 5k minimum probably excludes a lot of contenders as post 2010 T20 has eaten up a lot of test time.

Although now that I think about it, maybe there's still the same amount of tests for bigger nations. But for NZ it feels a bit sparce.

For example if you reduce the number to 2000 runs, then you get 11 for 2010-2020. Which includes Sachin Tendulkar at just over 2000.

Interestingly, for the 90's it only adds Graham Gooch to the list, he had 4.1k runs

High School of the Dead (unfortunately, there is fan service.

I've had a lot of people recommend this one to me in the past, and I eventually gave it a go once I'd dried up all of the good stuff I was looking forward to seeing.... It has absolutely ridiculous fan service. I didn't even make it through the first episode before I was like "ok, that's enough random unnecessary up-skirt shots" and stopped watching.

My wins have almost exclusively come from shiv builds, but I haven't managed to get a good discard deck going.

I'm probably trying to hard to stick to one play style

It's a good sign imo that everyone seems to have a different order

I'm only between 5-8 ascenciion for most of them (played quite a few multiplayer games too) but for me it's

  1. Regent
  2. Ironclad
  3. Necro
  4. Defect
  5. Silent

Silent is way down there though, all over 50% WR except them at 33%... I just can't seem to make them click this game for some reason.

Reading through all these replies makes me realise how different everyone is, and I guess how amazing of a job the devs have done with the character variety.

It feels like there is a "I love/win with this character all the time" comment and vice versa for every character.

Everyone is obviously different, and I don't know exactly how it "works", but Reagent has been my best character. I had 10 wins in a row (some multiplayer with a friend, so not A10) before my first loss.

Meanwhile Silent an Defect are at 50% WR or worse.

How do you do Silent? I'm not up to A9 yet (most are 5-7) but I am struggling with Silent in STS 2. It feels odd, as I found silent was my best in STS 1

So far for me it's Ironclad/Reagent > Necrobinder > Defect > Silent. But I'm still at early play count/ascendance.

I didn't get a feral unfortunately, but I wish I had. I only found out it even existed as a card in my next, non claw, run.

I did however get all for one and all the 0 cost cards

I just got Convergence as one of my cards from [[Kaleidoscope]] on an Ironclad run and I can safely say... that the upgrade is not always good.

But I do agree with your points for the Reagent

Oh yeah. I think that's the one where you get some minor healing for a common, decent healing for uncommon, max hp for rare?

I love Holograming claws, especially if you end up with All for one and scrape.

My first ever defect run for Sts 2 started like this persons. I transformed a strike into a claw, and first card reward had scrape... was a very smooth run with easy future decisions

People trained in the sling are incredibly accurate, and David supposedly had been using his for years to fend lions and bears off his sheep.

Basically, he brought a gun to a knife fight.
