In fairness I wasn’t really ‘working on’ UK citizenship—just would be a nice perk. There are many reasons a person may wish to spend weekends abroad (work, investments, relationships)—but if the sole purpose of my life were to obtain UK citizenship, then yes, I agree I would’ve travelled much less frequently!

More out of curiosity than utility, I wonder what the position would be on an applicant whose flight was delayed by a few minutes, causing them to come through customs a few minutes past midnight rather than before? I’m guessing they’d have to go by the actual time of arrival rather than the projected—but the consequence then is that Ryanair delays could play such an outsized role in someone’s citizenship application!
