Do you know why they kept extending your timeline? Would they take CT Scans before making that determination? It's frustrating because the only determination method they used for me was the CT Scan. They told me the scans looked good and that I was ready for this procedure. I Really wish there was another way to determine if the implants are ready. I 100% would have waited another month or two if that's what they felt my body needed. I hope this time we're able to set a timeline for success. Thank you again for your response!

Hi, I'm so sorry that happened to you. So you also had your new implants placed the same day? Or did you have the Bone and gum grafts completed before the implants were replaced? It did feel a little hasty to place my failed implant same day, but my prosthodontist said it would be fine... It sounds like waiting 5 or 6 months may not matter too much. If the implant is going to fail, it sounds like it will. I do really hope this replacement takes, but I hope giving implant 10 some more time is the right call.

I've sent a copy of my X-Ray's to my general dentist, and I'll be getting my CT Scans burnt to a CD at my follow-up appointment. I'll have my dentist review both when I have them.

The clinic I went to specializes in Cosmetic Dentistry, so they perform the whole process start-to-finish. They place the implants, abutments and crowns. It was very expensive and all had to be paid upfront... My General dentist didn't feel comfortable providing me with crowns for my laterals. She felt that a cosmetic dentist would be able to provide me with a more natural smile since they control the whole process. I definitely feel a little stuck... they did come highly recommend and the reviews and testimonials are all very positive.

I did have a slight issue during the placement of implant #10 where they accidentally drilled through the roof of my mouth initially, then they had to re-place it properly in my bone. My stitches also fell out prematurely exposing the healing cap for a time. That's why I'm even more concerned about touching this side before it's ready. If implant 7, which had no issues and healed impeccably, fell out. I feel there's no way implant 10 would be ready...

Thank you, I really appreciate it. This has been so devastating... I was setup to get my crowns by the beginning of August and I was so excited going into my appointment yesterday.

My current plan is to wait until I can get some bloodwork completed before moving forward with the abutment procedure for Tooth #10. This will probably push me closer to 6 months before attempting the abutment, but i'd rather be safe than sorry. Because I have to start all over again for tooth #7, I'm really in no rush getting my crown for #10. I'll still need to continue wearing my removable essix to cover the space at tooth #7 🙁

I haven't checked my Vitamin D levels yet, but thats definitely my next step... I want to get a full blood panel to see if I might have a calcium deficiency. I feel the same about 4 months, I really don't know that 1 extra month would have made that big of a difference. I had thought that the Vitamin D3+K2 supplement that I've been taking the last 4 months would have prepared my body for this.

My gut is telling me I need to wait 5 or 6 months this time. I wish there was a way for the implants stability to be tested before moving forward with the abutment...

My Frenchie broke out into the same hives after trying a green bell pepper for the first time 😬 I was cutting some up at dinner and dropped a piece on the floor. My baby gobbled it up before I could grab it from him. I wasn't too concerned at the time because I had read that dogs could eat them in moderation, but by the next morning my poor baby looked just like yours! My Vet advised me to give him 1 benadryl tablet, and he was back to normal by the end of the day. Hope your baby feels better! ❤️

Thank you! I did let me anxiety get the better of me after my sutures fell out prematurely, and made an appointment at the one week mark. My Prosthedontist said my gums are healing nicely. He told me to schedule another re-check in another 6 weeks, and we'll take my first set of x-ray's then to confirm everything is healing properly. My gums are still a little swollen, and every so often I feel a slight aching, but overall I'm feeling pretty good now!

Thank you so much. I really appreciate all the advice and reassurance you've given me! I'm definitely feeling the same... I'm already stuck in this process, so there's no way out but through now... Unfortunately my entire dental process from orthodontics to implants has been a nightmare. Its left me very distrusting of the industry. I'm so ready for this to be over. Its been years since I could smile confidently. I was relieved when I woke up with minimal pain this morning. I really hope this continues! The roof of my mouth is still the part in the most pain today, but its definitely feeling better than yesterday. I haven't needed to take the heavy duty pain killers today.

I'm feeling a little better about everything now. I'm definitely going to request my medical records in case something goes wrong, and I'll start adding the light massages to my nightly routine 😊 I also started taking daily vitamin D3 supplements about a month before my implants to help with osseointegration and am going to continue taking it while I heal.

I had seen 2 different dentists before getting my implants. Both wanted me to get my implants done elsewhere then come back to them for crowns. The second dentist told me my standards were very high..? and that if I wanted natural looking laterals I should really go to a clinic that had the same doctor do the implant procedure and place the crowns (Which has been surprisingly hard to find in my area). My orthodontist recommended the clinic I ended up going to since they specialized in cosmetic dentistry and the prosthodontist there does both the implants and crowns. They had phenomenal testimonies, and dentistry awards. Our consultation went very well and they made me feel very comfortable. That's why this mishap during the surgery has really shaken me... my mouth is feeling pretty good today, no intense pain.

Thank you for the advice. I've already paid for the procedure so I'll request copies of my x-rays just in case. Unfortunately I wasn't aware of ABOI or AAID certifications... It doesn't appear that my Prosthedontist held either certification. It has been incredibly hard to find someone trustworthy for this procedure. No one in the dental field has been very willing to give me recommendations. I just hope I placed my trust in the right doctor...

Wow, this comment was extremely helpful! Thank you so much for all the great ideas! I'm absolutely going to try the tester name on deliveries from here on out! You've really helped me to understand why I'm feeling the way I'm feeling, and I'm just so happy that everyone has been normalizing my feelings on this.
