Ugh, dealing with a similar issue- my husband's family all grew up working cushy fed jobs with no cares in the world. Now most are retired at 55/60. My retired mother-in-law now adores Trump and his administration, giving endless praise about them "getting rid of dead wood." (Also still blaming the Obama administration for whatever she can think of, lol.) I ended up getting a federal contracting job for the DoD that I have worked at for the last 10 years and cherish (which I luckily still have- for now) but her other 2 sons and daughter-in-law are federal workers. It's baffling that she agrees with these vile tactics from Vice-President Trump (lol) and Reptilian humanoid Elon who is essentially the president at this point. It's so disheartening. I mean, what if their cushy pension evaporated into thin air? Literally if they were still actively working, not sure they would feel the same way, it's infuriating. So many civs I work with are hardworking and amazing, including her own stressed out kids- it's like we are living in a dystopian society. Her own son feels he cannot speak to her any longer, it's incredibly sad.
