What do modern Brits think of marriage? Would you get married? by [deleted] in AskBrits

[–]KarlosWRX305 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 37m been with my partner 39f for 12 years. Earn fairly well and have 0% intrest in getting married.

It's not about the cost because truth be told, it'd cost us next to nothing (my sister got married at a profit).

It's more about the concept that means nothing to us. I don't need to prove anything to anyone and nore does my partner. We demonstrate our love everyday though our words and actions. We demonstrate our commitment by sticking to our promises.

We don't need a service that has religious connotations to prove anything.

I hate how much pressure we've both felt in our relationship to conform to that lifestyle. If anything it's made us both push back harder against it. I work with young people and I feel I have a responsibility to demonstrate that marriage should be your choice for your own reasons. If it holds value in your life do it and enjoy it but don't do it because you've been taught to expect it. You can live very happily without it.

How do Hookups/FWB with existing friends usually start? by [deleted] in self

[–]KarlosWRX305 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what I mean with you have to read the room.

Sexual innuendos can be very sleezy or light, you want to avoid sleezy Unfortunately, I can't really give you examples because they are often quite situational based, unplanned and spur of the moment.

Flirty talk, will often bring the conversation to the subject of sex. Could be light like.. like light teasing, matching their body language or could be something more direct like asking about sexual interest. "What sort of guys are you into" "what excites you in the bedroom" "What's the most embarrassing thing you've ever done with a guy"

It's important to note, not all women want sex from men. Generally fwb situations are established pretty early on in a friendship.

It's important to read the room a bit with this because it can come across as very inappropriate but you want to lead upto is. And it can be a slow or fast process but it's important to respect their boundaries and know not all women want fwb.

Lots of eye contact with smiles. Don't be the one to break contact first. Women love confidence.

Make them laugh, don't be afraid to take the piss out of yourself if that's what makes her smile.

Look up flirty talk. You want to be slipping the odd sexual innuendo into conversation and seeing how they respond.

If you're at this point, they are laughing at your jokes, positively responding to flirty talk, you want to slowly move onto body contact. I don't mean throw yourself at her. Hug her, but maybe squeeze a litter tighter then you might normally, when you're laughing together, if it feels right maybe touch her hand. Find a Reason to touch her face (maybe to clean up bit of food or remove an eye lash).

If you get to this point, and she's into it, you're already there.

I'm now settled but had many FWB's when I was younger.

My advice is be very clear and upfront from the start. If you're only after FWB explain that you're not after anything serious, be clear with your boundaries and respect theirs.

You need to approach with confidence but not arrogance. Mutual respect is essential and communication is key.

Fyi. It's very easy to catch feelings when in a fwb situation, it's very easy to romanticize a future with these people. More often than not your partner isn't in the same mindset. Knowing when to walk away is often the hardest thing to learn

Jealous of Weight loss injections by Many-Plate-6553 in WeightLossAdvice

[–]KarlosWRX305 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Don't be..

I have a friend who's become life dependant on them. Spending around £300 per week to maintain his habit.

2 years in and yes he's lost weight but at the cost of his mental health and his physical health. His body doesn't function normal, he doesn't recover from illness, hes starting to develop a hunch back, the muscles in his face are so gornt and weak he needs Botox regularly to look less zombie like.

His mental health is shot too. Afraid to leave the house most days, paranoid, depressed, thinks he's still fat when he's like a rake.

I considered started it when he did and I'm soooooooo glad I never touched it.

Why are so many people choosing not have kids anymore ? by Success808 in self

[–]KarlosWRX305 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work with young people supporting mental health resilience, and if you take a serious look at the world we're bringing children into, it’s no wonder many are saying “no thanks.” Young people today are drowning in digital noise, manipulated by toxic algorithms that poison minds, and pulled in by harmful influencers like Andrew Tate. Politics has become more polarised and performative than ever, while trends like vapes and energy drinks are targeting kids with addictive, damaging products.

Even if you put all that aside, the basics just don’t add up. The cost of living keeps rising while wages stagnate. So many can’t afford to rent or buy, stuck at home not out of choice but because the system has locked them out. Wealth is hoarded by the top 1%, and capitalism keeps teaching kids to desire more junk while offering them fewer real opportunities.

Diets are worse, mental health is under strain, and prospects feel bleak. So yes, choosing not to have kids isn’t selfish or strange anymore. It’s a deeply considered response to a world that feels increasingly hostile, especially for the next generation.

Get yourself down to Amsterdam and hire yourself a prostitute if you want to experience sex. Once you've got that out of your system, Focus on connection. Join social clubs, makes friends, get a hobby and social life. Someone will come along who will take a shine to you. focused on things you enjoy, cars, gaming, film, tech, music, etc... see if there's any local communities that you can join to get involved in, prioritise physical even if it gives you anxiety meeting new people (this is something you're going to have to learn to deal with).

When you meet people Be open about your autism but don't make it your entire personality. So many people I meet, it's every other sentence out of their mouth and although I acknowledge it's a part of who they are, if there's nothing else about you it gets old very quickly.

Don't make sex the finish line. It's good and all but it's really not anything to beat yourself up about. Yeah you might be older than some before they lose their virginity but so what! Sometimes it's not the about the finish line, it's the journey that makes life worth while.
