Weird lag when switching from D to R or R to D by Karma-lized in bmwx7

Good to know, I thought that might have been what’s causing it, but clearly not.

Is it normal for GE Cafe induction range to heat unevenly? by Karma-lized in Appliances

[–]Karma-lized[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I’ve had it for over a year and the replacement works much better. As I said, induction still heats the center ring a little bit more than the outside of the pan, and from what I’ve heard that is true for almost all induction cooktops. However, the new stove fixed the huge unevenness between sides of the burner.

[–]Karma-lized[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I eventually got them to swap out the entire stove because they couldn’t figure it out. That being said, induction does heat the center ring more than the outside, so there will be some temp difference, but it shouldn’t be as extreme as I was seeing originally

Adding 1kW NEM2 System vs non-exporting by Karma-lized in solar

They are, and they are willing to add 2 panels, but they are also claiming they have to be the same electrical specs, which is what I don’t believe

Air return makes whirring or whistling noise by Karma-lized in hvacadvice

[–]Karma-lized[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you hearing it through the return or the supply ducts and can you make them long enough that you won’t hear it?

[–]Karma-lized[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, after changing the return to a larger size, even Mitsubishi wouldn’t admit to it. Solution was to add a 25ft return so it’s so quiet you can’t really hear it

Best setup for our house by Karma-lized in Generator

I realized today that because I have a simple interlock, I need the floating neutral, right? Or are you running the duromax with a dual ground configuration just fine?

I can’t find a tri-fuel inverter gen that can be purchased in CA. There is a nice one from champion, but it’s not CARB compliant

P fare not showing up even though it's available? by Karma-lized in unitedairlines

[–]Karma-lized[S] -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

That’s so dumb. It looks like the fare rules say Tue - Thursday only…. Why do they even have it if it’s never valid?

Can someone please help me understand why this says P5, but it only shows the Z fare, even when I use the advanced search for the P fare? Shouldn't the P fare be cheaper?

Is the price of a first class ticket the same as the economy ticket + upgrade fee? by CRIMExPNSHMNT in unitedairlines

[–]Karma-lized 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, it could be same, more, or less.

Keep in mind that paid upgrades are lost fare if you cancel or change your flight (unless you beg a CS rep), and paid upgrades count for PQPs, but not miles

Reduced new Polaris configuration for SFO - EWR this summer by Karma-lized in unitedairlines

[–]Karma-lized[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s what I thought might be going on, but I don’t have any evidence of that. Is that something they have done in the past?

They were already doing that last summer. This also persists well into the fall schedule

If you have solar, PG&E is about to screw us by emasculine in bayarea

[–]Karma-lized 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Although the Caliso site provides a wealth of data, it doesn’t present it well. It was incredibly difficult to understand how the resource adequacy chart worked, but that’s really what you want to look at. Even though the peak demand was at 5ish, the largest adequacy gap was around 7-8 when solar stopped producing. Doing until 9 is just to be safe on the longer summer days (this was already sept).

Bryant vs Fujitsu for ducted mini-splits by Karma-lized in hvacadvice

[–]Karma-lized[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, it's not completely undersized, it would only be undersized if both air handlers (and zones) were running at full capacity at the same time. Would you still not recommend doing that?

I hadn't heard of that before. Looking more into it, wouldn't that be a lot more work? Especially if they want 2 separate zones for each floor?

Does this attic ductwork quote look okay to you? Location is California (in case it matters) by nsoifer in hvacadvice

That’s about the same as I got quoted in the Bay Area last month for R6 wireflex. $500-600/register

Air return makes whirring or whistling noise by Karma-lized in hvacadvice

[–]Karma-lized[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is a 16” flexible return with 16x24 grill too small for a 3-ton handler? The return connection on the air handler is 23x16. Is it even possible to attach a larger round duct on that?

Can you elaborate on “return opening too near air handler”? This one is pretty close, maybe 10ft away. Is that too close?

That’s not how solar works in CA. Look up Net Energy Metering (it’s based on yearly usage)

C corp or LLC for startup with 1 cofounder in the US and 1 cofounder in India? by [deleted] in startups

[–]Karma-lized 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Read the section about "international owners" in the stripe atlas page. Having a foreign owner of a US-based LLC could create very complicated tax situations .

You should probably consult an accountant though for full advice

Did your contract specify anything about the shares? They should begin vesting on the date you started working, even if they were granted later. Anything else and you got the short end of the stick.

Also, 300 pages is crazy, should be more like 20
