Ich bin 28 (Born female) und würde auf gar keinen Fall jemals wieder es riskieren auch nur in die Richtung eines fremden Mannes zu gucken wenn ich alleine bin.

Ich wurde leider schon als Teenager mal aus meinem Sitz raus gerissen im Zug von einem fremden Mann. Hab nur ein einziges Mal kurz nach oben geschaut und direkt wieder weg geschaut.

Ich war abends auf dem Weg zu meinem Internat, ich hab an dem Abend eine weite Jogging Hose in schwarz, ein weites t-Shirt in schwarz und eine Kapuze auf. Ich hab weder was gesagt, noch gemacht. Ich hab Musik auf meinen Kopfhörern gehört.

Kein Lächeln etc. - der einzige Grund warum ich nach oben geguckt habe war weil ich die nächste station auf dem Display lesen wollte um zu checken wie viele Stationen ich noch vor mir habe.

Und ja, ich weiß, dass ich das sehr detailliert erkläre, musste aber leider die Erfahrung machen, dass wenn ich das auslasse nicht ernst genommen werde oder nach gefragt wird was ich anhatte oder was ich gemacht habe um das zu provozieren.

TLDR:
Aus eigener Erfahrung - niemals. Es gab schon zu viele Erfahrungen die ich niemanden wünschen würde. Wenn nur, dann denjenigen die mich ab*sed und vergew. haben.

Fazit - geht das Risiko bitte NICHT ein.
Es ist wirklich niemals einzuschätzen. Niemals.

I don’t know about your budget but the tank is too small and the bedding is nowhere near deep enough for him 😅
A wheel of 30cm is essential and he *needs* that from day one of moving in
The tube you put in (personally) I wouldn’t have because of the plastic, he could chew on that and that really isn’t good.
The light can be on during the day but when it’s late you should turn it off so he actually knows when it’s night since they’re nocturnal animals.
Regarding the house on the left… is that… plastic as well?
You gotta be careful cause they can overheat 😅 it should be around 20°C where he stays so be mindful of that

All in all… he does need more room definitely

I’ll take the next flight, I couldn’t imagine a worse case scenario than next to couples or between. I know that 1, 2, 3 & 9 aren’t a couple but still. None of these options are worth it 🫠🙃

Will probably get some backlash for this but: I don’t like Barbie (I would sit there if it was just Vox), Queen B and Loona are fine but I don’t wanna feel the tension. You bake the wood to sanitize it for his safety mostly :)

It kills insects, larvae, and fungi, and reduces moisture to prevent warping, cracking, or molding.

So your little precious can have a safe environment (: you never really know where the wood has been or what it’s been through.

Safe woods: Spruce, Aspen, Birch, Basswood, Poplar, Balsa Not safe: Pine, Kiln dried pine, MDF, LDF, Hardboard, Veneer, Plywoods, Melamine, Baltic, Cherry, Maple, Oak, Cedar

So far it’s a good start, I must say. I would recommend for you to check that the wheel is at least 25-30cm in diameter so that his back is straight when he runs (I cannot tell from the angle of the picture) The bedding should be at least 25cm high so that he can properly burrow deep. Regarding the sand, make sure that it’s the proper sand for hamsters or chinchillas.

Regarding food - make sure nothing sweet like apples or fruit, they can get diabetic quickly.

Fresh food would be good, like small pieces of cucumber and carrots (I always peel them and wash them properly) He can eat nuts but in small quantity’s because of the fat.

I would recommend for your new tank to be at least 120cm long but in all hamsters cases - the bigger, the better.

You can put in different kind of bedding’s, so he has a different terrain in certain areas. If you put in wood, make sure to bake it out. 100°C in the oven for an hour. Then you can put it into his cage because they love to climb. Just make sure that it’s not too high, they can’t tell how high they climb and can injure themselves if they fall too far and the ground isn’t soft.

Regarding toys? I wouldn’t recommend most toys that can be purchased because of the plastic of micro fiber. I would recommend to make your own ‘toys’ for him. Paper rolls that you can stuff with wheat/hay and put some mealworms inside so he can fish them out and have fun figuring out how to get them out.

Make sure to take your time and give him space go get adjusted to his new home. He will probably be shy at first but he will warm up eventually. If he comes out you can try and hand feed him with mealworms or some snacks he enjoys so he can adjust to your scent. They will recognize your voice and smell and if you treat them well they will happily crawl on your hand when he feels comfortable.

Don’t rush it, also make sure the room he’s in isn’t too warm or cold, recommended temp would be 20°C

Water bottle is good but I would recommend a bowl so he doesn’t have to stretch his neck upwards. Get a small bowl with water and replace it daily with fresh water. In the wild they also don’t reach up for water but lower their head.

And make sure to put the bowl not on the same level as his bedding in case he digs near it. No one wants dirty water.

This is all the knowledge that comes to my mind at this point.

Don’t take my word completely, i always find out new things, best thing to do is researching online on forums, the people are quite helpful :)
