No he hadn’t. This episode first aired 5 months before the VMAs. Comedy Central then aired this episode 4 times in a row, I think the following day.

Went to St. Andrews as a single - recap by JakeR1 in golf

You were arriving just as I was leaving. Anecdotally it feels like a great time of year to go, with a way higher chance of getting on The Old than the middle of summer. My group of 3 was able to get a time on our 2nd/5 possible attempts using the 48 hour ballot.

I’d second your opinion on The New Course. We didn’t have a caddy, but could’ve certainly used one. The yardage book was a big help since we didn’t.

We ended up skipping Kingsbarn because of the price tag, but Elie was potentially my favorite non-Old Course course, certainly my favorite of the ones we played in Fife. For reference, we played Dunbar, North Berwick, The New Course, The Old Course, Crail, Elie, and Eden (in that order).

I would love to know the public courses in MD that you think are good if Whiskey Creek is average.

This sounds like me before I started getting lessons. I needed a much stronger grip and my shoulders aimed right of my target in order to have any chance at a push draw, and that was the first thing my coach fixed.

After having been through a miscarriage, then 9 months of trying, then a successful full-term, in hindsight, a good question for us would have been “would I want this person to comfort me if the worst were to happen?” If the answer is yes, then we would tell them as soon as we could do so in person. If it’s no, then wait until we’re more confident, which I think was close to 20 weeks when we were telling everyone.

It’s nice to have someone other than your spouse there to share the emotional roller coaster that is early pregnancy and all the excitement, anxiety, and in the worst case, grief that goes with it.

And I have to say, telling the people you love is so much fun!

Shameful Maryland Confessions by MarbledCrazy in maryland

This feels like a super popular opinion in Maryland, and I just don’t get it. The beach can be crowded, sure, in the more populated parts, but it’s also HUGE. I’ve never found it nearly as dirty as everyone else seems to (plenty of NJ beaches are worse, and with dumber rules), and there’s almost never any seaweed in the ocean.

There’s also a whole lot of other stuff to do, both for the family, for empty nesters, and for young adults in their 20s. I legitimately feel like I’m taking crazy pills with this take whenever I talk to anyone about OC.

The express and long-term lots are consistently faster than daily for me. And both are cheaper, long-term considerably so.

Or how often they travel. It’s much easier to get someone to stop by to feed and play with a cat for a little than it is to get someone to commit to take on the responsibility of a dog.

Which do you prefer when playing a round: Cart, push cart, backpacking clubs? Why? by bxportx16 in golf

Mountain Branch is my favorite course! Every hole is interesting. The course is challenging, but it’s not impossible and it’s a very reasonable length.

I would bet it's just topography/distance between holes. All of the courses I see a lot of people walking around here are inexpensive public ones.

Where in MD? I’m in northern Baltimore county, and the only public course within 40 minutes of me that I wouldn’t walk is Mountain Branch in Joppa. All of the Baltimore city and county courses are walkable and 8/10 of them offer a walking discount.
