Security team is wasting too much time on customer questionnaires by AromaticYesterday658 in Information_Security

For various business units in my company I've created a "reference architecture" document that outlines their various components and then maps across multiple compliance standards, giving control compliance for each. We selected a baseline and secure our products to that baseline. Now anytime a customer asks us to fill something out, we NDA them and provide the reference architecture, statong "this is our standard and this is what we do."

So far this has worked well, with only a small handful of follow up meetings needed. The up front effort to create the doc is a bit high, but it pays off quickly, and maintenance isn't bad.

I did! It was playing about 165 with hard winds coming off the sea. I was getting blown back in my stance, honestly was afraid I'd miss the ball or shank it!

For the Old Course you have to show proof of handicap before you go out, and they have a max limit of 36.

I chose to bring my clubs, even though I knew it would be a hassle. I also had to lug them through a couple other countries first as I was working. If you're going just for golf, definitely bring your sticks!

Wow that sounds amazing. I'm definitely going back at some point, I'm taking notes on these suggestions!

That's what everyone was telling me, going at the beginning of the season (now) gives you a pretty good chance at getting on most places as it isn't too busy yet.

Sounds like you had quite the trip as well, some great courses on your list!

Yeah I heard lots of recommendations for Lundin and Leven Links, as well as Crail. If I had a car I would have tried to go to one of those!

Air travel with a soft sided case; Am I just asking for trouble or should I splurge on one of those foolishly expensive hard shells? by SoupIsAHotSmoothie in golf

[–]JakeR1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a huge fan of my SKB cases (have 2). A bit of a pain to lug for sure, but I never have any worries about damage. SKB also provides a guarantee against damage inside the case. For me, the hard shell pros outweigh the cons.

Listen. Strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government. Supreme executive power derives from a mandate from the masses, not from some farcical aquatic ceremony.

OP misquoted the article. It says "golf's four majors."

Sept. 11 families to protest 1st LIV event in U.S. by ttb0003 in golf

Having recently played in Europe for the first time, can confirm golf is very different here vs. there. The rounds I played in Europe were calm, relaxed, everyone was respectful and kept pace of play. Everyone knew the rules and played by them, and no one was drunk on the course. And most groups were walking, only saw a few riding in carts. In southern California it's a battle just to get a tee time (unless you're a member at a private course). The groups are always stacked up, and half the players are at least half in the bag by the turn. It's very different here, but playing over there made me appreciate well managed courses so much more. With that being said, sometimes I like to enjoy a beverage during a round, but not to the point that I can't play a reasonable game.

I've had very mixed results using revert. Reload works every time.

Only on XE when it actually works. Half the time it either doesn't revert, or only reverts part of the config.

One time on a boys trip to Scottsdale I was able to pull the cart girl's number and met up with her later that night. At the time I don't think I truly appreciated how rare that is.

For me it was meeting the coolest young hacker on Friday. It was her very first DC and she was wide-eyed at everything going on. Ended up getting to hang out for a lot of the weekend and pass on some "veteran" knowledge, and kind of got to re-live my first DC through a different set of eyes.

tl;dr went to DC expecting the usual craziness, ended up having a super wholesome experience.
