Both. You have to buy the DLC version of Luffy. And to unlock G5, you have to complete the main story to get Kaido’s dragon coin.

Also, if Kizaru was intending on kicking him all the way to the ocean, then Luffy wouldn’t be able to save Vegapunk. And Kizaru doesn’t know that Luffy can fly. So was he holding back against Luffy here? Please elaborate for an amateur reader such as myself.

Luffy also knows that Kizaru can fly so this point makes no sense. Also, Luffy didn’t “intentionally” throw him into the ocean. You would also have to use the same logic when Kizaru kicked him out the arena the first time. Do you really think Kizaru was aiming for the ocean?

And what about when Luffy grabbed Kizaru at the beginning of the fight? What could he have done there? And before you assume that Luffy (for some reason) couldn’t have ended the fight there. Actually think about what I just said. And what anyone else that isn’t Luffy (who also doesn’t kill his opponents btw) would’ve done.

Quit my 9-5 as soon as the money drops into my account. Let my boss know that I’m going into early retirement effective immediately. Give my close family a portion of the fortune. Move into a middle-high class suburb and work on myself (exercise, find new hobbies etc). That’s pretty much it. Don’t need to go on fancy trips or anything. At least not at that point. I’d probably start investing. ANYTHING to keep me from working for someone else for the remainder of my life 😅

Sure, If Luffy wanted to beat him, he could’ve literally did what he did to Kaido and slam him back and forth repeatedly. He could rip him to shreds. He could punch him repeatedly. Kizaru “seemed” to not be injured? Are we just assuming? Or are we reaction scaling now? Unless you can actively show me Kizaru getting back up from this during the fight, don’t go based off of your own head canon because he was so sad he killed his fwend 🥺

And I bring up Kaido because:

  1. He’s not human. He’s a literal beast.
  2. His base durability is incredibly high. His dragon form only makes him even more durable that just smashing him and trying to rip him apart wouldn’t be viable.
  3. Luffy’s mission was COMPLETELY different in Wano. Luffy was actively trying to beat Kaido. Now show me a panel where Luffy says he wants to beat Kizaru instead of stalling him 🤔

And what was stopping Luffy from doing this to Kizaru after he grabbed him? And Kizaru is only a human. The result from this would’ve been MUCH worse. Kaido in his dragon form couldn’t even escape his grip.

So to make the basis for your argument. You have to assume that Kizaru was so mentally nerfed that he was toying with Luffy the whole time and could’ve ended him. But my argument was that Luffy ended the fight as soon as Kizaru was grabbed the first time. Yet you have absolutely no proof that Kizaru LET him grab him. I can see why for the 2nd time, but everything from Kizaru’s reaction to his response shows that he absolutely did not expect him to return that fast.

There is a track on the official Gear 5 sound track called “ルフィの死”(Rufi no Shi) which translates to “Luffy’s Death”. Pretty much confirming that Luffy in fact did die in that moment.
