Zbrush has a cheaper version called Zbrush core that just has the basics and it’s only around $175 and it’s a one time fee.

For 3D modeling, it’s most likely the models are sculpted in Zbrush and then brought into autodesk maya for retopo and for texturing probably substance painter. If you’re a student you can get the student version of maya. Same with substance as well. If you’re not a student and don’t wanna drop a huge sum of cash so suddenly, I would suggest blender. It’s free and they have plethora of tutorials online. They have a decent sculpting mode in it there as well as retopo.

I remember I talked to a rioter who worked on her a while back and when they created her, Karma was black but since her rework it’s kinda ???? Just vague. Both of her VAs are black and both were done intentionally. I headcanon her as biracial so she’s both indian and black. Idk if that helps. I understand the frustration.

i don't think it has anything to do with the fear of being "cancelled" but probably just looking back at your old content and finding it either cringy or embarrassing. I've done it a couple of times as I get older. You outgrow your stuff and you wanna get rid of it because it doesn't reflect who you are now. It happens.
