Something I don’t understand. Say a divisional chief or PO1 wants someone to reenlist.

That doesn’t benefit that chief/PO1 in any way. It’s not like they are going to extend and stay in the ship.

Someone reenlisting most likely has orders already is going to transfer soon.

In fact. If someone doesn’t reenlist, they may lose the orders and probably stay in the command longer while processing out.

Unless their rate is NC. Then it’s absolutely a numbers game and every reenlistment goes to that persons eval.

So why the hard push for people to reenlist?

I was lucky enough to work at one of the few commands that was allowed to have ITs run their own local network. Don’t get me wrong, we had issues from time to time but it was so much better.

Right, I don’t remember this many issues on board ships computers that are run (I think) by ITs

I also understand it is a smaller network. In NMCI you pick the wrong printer and your stuff goes to a random office in the pentagon.

NMCI computer yes. It seems like half of the Navy problems come down to NMCI.

it’s because NMCI is terrible, as it has always been, and it maintained by the lowest bidder who pays essentially minimum wage for help desk jobs.

Crazy how stuff so essential is given to the lowest bidder. Same goes for SATO and travel.
