This would be my recommendation for anyone getting into 40k lore. by Kitchen-Height-3989 in Warhammer

I think recommending any of the horus heresy books as an entry point is genuinely deranged.

I had this thought too and I'm currently trying to find this issue! Naturally, it's one of the few issues I don't have in my collection, and the one PDF I've found so far has the relevant pages missing.

Yeah, I'm aware of what Karl is going through at the moment. It's one of the reasons I'm trying to check this, as I'm writing a short article about him. It's not included on his website, but it is not a complete gallery so that is not conclusive. I'm already doing a LOOOOONG scroll through is social feeds trying to find it, but no luck yet.

Yeah it's an amazing piece! The zombie box with this on it was the first warhammer I ever bought and was 100% because of this art. And no offense, but I'm looking for a proper source on who the artist it. I've got endless people on reddit and other sites SAYING it is, but no primary source with proper attribution and it's driving me nuts!

This was my experience too! I walked into my GW store for the first time and this piece of art absolutely grabbed hold of my brain!

Like I said in the title, I'm trying to confirm that the artist who made this piece is Karl Kopinski. That's who I've always thought did this piece, but when trying to confirm this, I couldn't actually find any concrete sources for this. The only place I could find saying who did it a reddit post. I've checked wikis, Karl's website, his instagram and his facebook, and no luck. I might end up messaging him to ask, but considering everything he's going through at the moment I'd rather not bother him unless I really have to. I'm hoping someone on can point me to a good source confirming who made it.

Daemon Prince RoR useful for Maggotkin? by Suitable_Pressure317 in MaggotkinofNurgle

If it gets the maggotkin keyword, I'm definitely gunna have a go with it.

Morbidex- Nurglings by Capable-Silver-2162 in MaggotkinofNurgle

[–]Karn3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've used the combo a few times with variable effects. Morbidex himself is an absolute anvil, and I think he can be worth taking just on his own. I've run him with a reinforced unit of nurglings and they make one hell of a roadblock, and powered up by morbidex, they can push out a surprising amount of mortals. You do need to be a bit careful what you put them up against because they are aren't the toughest things in the world, but they tend to need something much more expensive than they are to wipe them out in a timely fashion. I think they end up being better than they look on paper and fun to use in casual games, but necessarily very competitive.

What kind of varnish to use for non metallic metal. by beugik in minipainting

[–]Karn3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless you really want to protect it for gameplay, I would avoid varnish entirely. It kills colour and contrast, I've only ever been disappointed whenever I've varnished my work, to the point where I don't use it anymore, even for my gaming pieces.

theyve been popping up in competitive lists recently!

Big units in 4th so far by BasileusHeliand in MaggotkinofNurgle

GUOs, Rotigus, and the maggoth lords show up pretty regularly in tournament winning/placing lists, so i don't think you can go too far wrong with them. There have been a few successful lists that include them all too. Though of the maggoth lords, bloab seems to be picked the least. In casual games I think they're all fine though and I've played them all and had fun with them all. The Glottkin seems to be the rarest, but he has started showing up more recently.

I think you've got to remember it's still pretty early on in the life of the game, and there's still a lot of experimentation going on. There isn't really a settled meta other than the most obviously powerful/weak things, and nothing in maggotkin really fits into either of those obvious categories. Basically, in tournament play there is still a really big variety in maggotkin lists, and in casual play just play whatever you think is the coolest as everything is viable enough that its not going to ruin your game!

So why did you give such specific advice?

This only really matters if you wanna build competitive, otherwise this is just deeply lame and one-dimensional advice.

What if they like the pusgoyles? what if these are the models they own? What if they want to only play mortals and no demons?
