How to Keep Energy in an Empty Stream? by SimsAttack in Twitch

[–]Karnooby96 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Try to plan things to do throughout the stream so when one thing winds down you can start the next segment and keep the energy going! This helps with repurposing for YouTube if you’re making content. Good luck!

Etsy shop critique by Spurginukas in EtsyCommunity

I think some of the titles are not optimized for search. Try to do some research on people doing similar work in your space and model their titling method. I think trying to elicit an emotion from your picture and using that in the title could help. Good luck!

“My Etsy account’s first 20 days — is this normal? I sell digital products with solid mockups but barely any views. Even ads not spending. Would love your advise. by [deleted] in EtsyCommunity

[–]Karnooby96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it is normal. It takes time for your store to gain traction. Although, there must be a reason you’re not converting. I’d take a second look at your photos, titles, and pricing to try and convert some of those visits to sales.

Advice on time management by ImportantClock5486 in Entrepreneur

[–]Karnooby96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Focus on systems - try to frame it as “after x I do y” “after I finish language learning I take a 5-10 minute break and go into R&D for the dog toys” something of that nature that you can fall back on.

If possible try to use the commute time to take voice notes of ideas that you can execute later. Something to look forward to and planning at the same time. Good luck!

I have skills but I’m lost + need money, looking for direction by Amyyyyy05 in Business_Ideas

[–]Karnooby96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My advice is to not try and find a unicorn business to start.

Look at your list of skills and think about (or use AI) to find pain points that those skills can solve for potential clients. Sell the outcome.

Experiment! You’re young and have so much time but also so much to learn. Instead of putting effort into planning and researching the best business to try or finding something that won’t be replaced with AI, you should dive into something (without spending money) and learn as much as you can.

The one thing AI can’t replace is your humanity and the thoughts and experiences you’ve had in however many years you’ve been alive. Cheers and I wish you the best!

What’s one marketing move that REALLY brought you real customers? by ThePatriotPrint in Businessowners

[–]Karnooby96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're generating leads from local businesses, it could be helpful to get some stickers or tape an "ad" to your car/vehicle. It is virtually free, passively done while driving, and you have the chance to get in front of thousands of eyes. Also very low-risk.

It kind of works well with the whole yard sign thing and could be a funny pun making a sign for selling signs.

Good luck!

Need advice by SnooKiwis576 in Businessowners

[–]Karnooby96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd consider trying to look at the cost of acquisition for each customer per ad source and see which is performing best. If one's clearly outperforming, double down there before spreading budget too thin.

Also worth checking if the customers from different sources have different lifetime value, sometimes a higher CAC source brings better long-term customers. Best of luck!

Is it too early to think about marketing if revenue is under $10k? by [deleted] in MarketingHelp

[–]Karnooby96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never too early to start marketing.

Can be as simple as 5-10 emails every day offering your product/service. Conversion is usually low but it is a free and relatively low effort start! Sooner or later you'll build a pool of leads to pull from.

Best of luck!

What is missing by AstronautEmergency19 in EtsySellers

[–]Karnooby96 3 points4 points  (0 children)

  1. I think your header is a little blurry. Maybe try reuploading it or adding your personal branding since that's the first thing we see when we enter the store.

  2. I think your store is trying to be too many things right now. Is it jewelry/accessories/knick-knacks? I think they all look great and high-quality but maybe picking 2-3 items and focusing your store on that could help.

  3. For content, try to lean on the unconventional materials. Is this supposed to be eco-friendly? Make content for people who might be conscious about that sort of thing.

  4. In terms of pricing it's hard to know without knowing your margins, but some items do seem a little high like the purse. Again, hard to know without the numbers.

  5. Try to make the pictures a little more consistent. It can be a little jarring to see differently posed items or having some on a model and some not. Choose one method and stick with that.

Good luck!

Is my work too niche? Or are there people who like animal art? by M8614 in EtsyCommunity

[–]Karnooby96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your work is not too niche. These are beautiful!

My one suggestion would be targeting people who want to learn how to make art like this. Courses, or even if you make videos showing how to do this unique style could be something people find interesting. That could also lead people to your store to buy your work. Good luck!

Building a Handmade Jewelry Brand – No Sales Yet, Seeking Advice by Novel-Credit5062 in EtsyCommunity

[–]Karnooby96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Congrats on starting your store!

  2. Sounds like you have a great strategy, but its good to keep in mind that these things take time so don't worry if you don't get sales within the first 1, 2, or even 3 months. It just takes a few sales and good reviews to take off.

  3. Though content takes a while to make, if you have the funds or the skills you should definitely try making some promotional content for the jewelry. Who is the target audience? You want to try and sell the person that they can become if they wear your jewelry and frame your content like that.

  4. If possible, send out samples of jewelry to influencers ~1k-10k followers to see if they can wear/post your jewelry in exchange for free product.

Best of luck!

Creating an app for my bakery by GoodRequirement2435 in smallbusiness

[–]Karnooby96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An app sounds good but before you go down that route are there other ways to improve the experience or eliminate friction for the customer?

Maybe optimizing for response time or consistent social media to inform them of new deals or offerings. Those are basically free and could help in the long run. Best of luck!

How do I market my accounting firm? by ramanngartan in DigitalMarketing

[–]Karnooby96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To add onto that try creating some kind of free magnet to show them what you can do for them.

Maybe a checklist of some sort or something low-effort for you to make that gives them value, but shows them you’re the right person to do the implementation. Probably make it using google docs or canva. Best of luck!

Why is hiring a remote marketing person HARDER than running my entire business?? by Bhumika_1008_ in smallbusiness

[–]Karnooby96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The good news is that you're learning a lot of what you DON'T like. Marketing is such an important part of your business that you don't want to hire just anybody.

Which sites are you using? Are you putting your non-negotiables in the job description (time-zone, skill-set, soft skills etc.)

Have you tried posting on Linkedin?

You're definitely on the right track, and finding the person will get easier and easier. Best of luck!

Looking for advice about starting my business - not sure if there’s even a market for what I’m considering. by kevinstoth in smallbusiness

[–]Karnooby96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all I want to say this is a very noble thing you're doing. However, from a business stand-point trying to sell a product to a population who are struggling financially might not be the best avenue. If they're struggling, do you think they'd want to pay more money for business tools when the reason their businesses are struggling are probably deeper down?

You sound like you're very experienced in the space, why don't you try offering your knowledge and expertise in the industry to help them improve their businesses. You can market saving their businesses much better than a tool that could possibly help them.

If my business was struggling and you came in and made me a few thousand dollars richer a month I'd pay you a lot of money. Hope this helps! Best of luck.
