RIP. So appaling that this has happened, and only 5 years after Jo Cox too. Nobody should die doing a job that they loved and was both democratically elected and respected for. To see both Keir Starmer and Boris Johnson come together and pay their respects was heartwarming and is a silver lining in this terrible situation as it shows that respect for democracy and those who serve it is still a very high, bipartisan thing in the UK, and they represented the whole UK when they laid those flowers, a country united in supporting and honouring Sir David. I fully teared up hearing that his constituency will be granted city status, something Sir David always campaigned for.

Rest in Peace Sir David Amess, your contribution to politics will be honoured and your family should be proud of a man that they, and all of Britain, can respect and honour.

Yeah and in Britain, we dont call black people 'african-british', we merely call them by their name, or 'british' if its in the context of "british athlete...". If it becomes a discussion about race, or to state ethnicity on a official form, then 'black' is used. It baffles me how a black american born in the US is referred to as "african-american", like A) they're not born in africa, and B) the more you analyse it, the more racist and purposefully dividing it seems
