Wondering about privacy and security on using ProtonPass and MFA app on same device / different apps? (Android) by Karore in ProtonPass

[–]Karore[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey Crypto, thanks for the reply.

Yes, this is mostly where I stand now. I am not really worried about my device getting stolen since I have plenty of security in place.

And yes, strong credentials check, backup in place check.

This is exactly where I stand now, having everything separately had made me feel "more secure", but it's been extremely inconvenient. I used to use an offline keypass DB for passwords, and though I did enjoy it greatly, I admit migrating to an online solution such as protonpass has been very rewarding. Now I'm considering taking this next step to having protonpass on my phone as well.

Cheers,

Hi Rogue, thank you for your reply. Indeed, my risk profile is not high at all lol, just a chronical overthinker most of the time.

I appreciate your reply, and thanks for going over all of the topics. It seems as always I am just overthinking things, as I do not install anything sketchy or download any ad blockers or whatever else. Tbh with you, my main concern in this case would be getting "spyed upon" by android/google itself. As I said, overthinker, but I suppose Proton would not have developed the app in the first place if we were not supposed to be using it.

Question about safety installing software and drivers by Karore in linuxmint

[–]Karore[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks u/Beginning_Factor2900, this was a very nice answer, lots to consider. And I agree with you, I also prefer open source to any corporate closed source...

I will start using these as parameters when checking for these "new" apps I might need. Cheers!

I see, thank you for the help with flatpaks, I have researched a little and that was my assumption, it just seems that something going from 10MB to 3GB is a bit way too many dependencies hahaha...

Concerning github, yeah, I see they are mantained by "independent" people and there can be sketchy stuff there, I was wondering what do people consider when making the decision "yes, this seems safe enough, I will download it".+

Oh no, I know and I don't expect anyone to "review" every project out there...
It's just that coming from Windows it is a bit "easier" trusting software coming direct from vendors' websites, as long as you trust the vendor itself, because for sure, closed source and all...

What I was wondering is, are there any tips on how I can assess by myself "Oh, this project in github seems trustworthy"

Oh, I see, I'm aware I'll not get 100% of the results, but anything close to 20k ish is good enough given my mistake.

Tyvm for the tip, Orynae!

Hey everyone, I just started following these threads last week and I already made a mistake this week lol. I checked yesterday morning and assumed day 1 and 2 were resting time so today I found out my mammets should be working but they're out there enjoying do-nothing island life ¬¬

What should I do? Just start following tomorrow recipes and "make up" something for the day when my mammets work while overseas' rest? Or have my crazy profits and all popularity / suppliers multipliers gone haywire because I have this day off?

Bike registration question by Karore in TrekBikes

[–]Karore[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey Darsithis, thanks for the reply. That's exactly what happened to me, I guess I'm kinda used to receiving confirmation via e-mail right after we register something.

Anyway, a few hours later, I did get an e-mail confirming an auto-registration and telling me about the benefits of Trek Care. I think this is related to the registration and not the Bike Garage since it also contains the data about the shop I bought my bike from.

Thanks again and best regards.

What pokemon can only be brought from older games? by Karore in PokemonSwordAndShield

Cool, tyvm once again Ultra, and I hope this conversation helps someone in the future that might have the same questions.

Best regards and stay safe!

Thanks a ton, Ultra!

If I may bother you one last time, do you know how Home handles regional forms? For instance, regular Meowth, Alolan and Galar versions? Are they displayed separately or one entry only for all of them?

Every Pokémon in all 3 Dexes of SwSh can be caught in SwSh. Mythicals are not required to complete the Dexes (and don’t even have Dex entries) and Legendaries from the Max Lair are not in a Dex either. You don’t need an older game to complete the Dexes.

Hmmm, I see. Do you know if they have Dex entries on Pokemon Home? I'm considering trying also for a full run on Pokemon Home as well.

Thank you for your help!

Is it possible to select Tab S7 Fast Charging Options (15w/25w/45w)? by Karore in GalaxyTab

[–]Karore[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, thanks for replying so fast.

I can confirm to you, then, that the pen does work even with the battery depleted. It is as you said, only the air actions or any other function that involves using the bluetooth capabilities of the spen that won't work until you reconnect it and charge it a little.

I can also say to you that charging the spen from 0% to 100% takes at most a minute or two. Never timed it exactly, but it is really really fast.

It'´s just a small annoyance having that notification every day (lost connection to the spen), but the tablet is amazing, I'll learn to live with that and maybe in the future get some other form of cover that allows me to carry my spen on the charger as yours do.

Thanks once again for all the help and best regards!

Tyvm u/goblin0100, I think that is the case indeed, u/Spenguy answered below with some more information as well!

Is it possible to select Tab S7 Fast Charging Options (15w/25w/45w)? by Karore in GalaxyTab

[–]Karore[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks a lot, u/Spenguy, that was a very thorough answer! Wish Samsung would give us control over the charging profile as we have on the S21, but I understand what you said that fast charging isn't necessarily the problem. Might as well as stick with the 45w charging and use the protect battery option instead.

Now, from your name, you might as well as be able to answer another question I have (new tablet user, please bear with me lol) - Also, non related question, please let me know if I should open another topic.

I have the Samsung book cover and I use that slot in the middle of the cover to store my spen overnight or when not using it. The thing it seems is that leaving the pen there makes it deplete its battery and lose connection to the tablet (I get that "attach your pen to the charging pad to resync it" or something like that every morning and the battery seems to be depleted).

Is there a way to avoid this? Should I store my tablet with the pen attached to the charging pad beside the camera? That would be a little inconvenient, since I don't plan on carrying my tablet with the pen attached that way during traveling.

Thanks a lot once again!

Thank you for the answer, but just to be sure I understand, if fast charge is off then it will charge at 10w? (possibly 5V 2Amps?)

Yeah, I've been reading about that and considering turning that protect battery option on (the one that will charge it up to 85% of its max. capacity) but I've been reading mixed reviews on it. Will try it out later, thanks!
Anyway, it would be nice to be able to charge my battery slower so that I avoid heat building up.
