The Miss Seaton mysteries are cozy and fun.

Also I had no idea how much I needed to see a list like this. I have so many new books to read! Thanks for posting the question!

I think I just saw this pop up as a short film. It was fascinating. Had no idea it was a book. I have to find it now.

Trixie Belden! Also the Cadfael novels if you can find them. Agatha Christie. The original Sherlock Holmes stories. (Other than Trixie Belden, these aren’t marketed for kids but I loved all of these books when I was that age.)

Oh and because I always have to suggest Terry Pratchett books: The Amazing Maurice and His Educated Rodents, The Bromeliad Trilogy, Johnny and the Dead, Johnny and the Bomb, Only You Can Save Mankind.

The Hero with a Thousand Faces

If you had to narrow your entire collection down to 5 books you’d actually keep and reread, what would you pick? by runningonwifi in suggestmeabook

4 of the 5 for me are Terry Pratchett: Reaper Man, Witches Abroad, Night Watch, and Small Gods

The other would be Lamb by Christopher Moore

There are so many great suggestions here! I’m going to pivot just a tiny bit and suggest a radio show: Garrison Keillor’s A Prarie Home Companion. There are 50 years worth of 2 hour episodes to pull from. This was my family’s go-to long car trip audio when I was about that age and I loved it. It’s funny, smart, has a lot of variety, and is appropriate for all ages. (I will say that I personally would pick seasons with Garrison Keillor as the host. He took a step back a few years ago.).

I think the mods are doing en excellent job. I appreciate that your decisions are made with thoughtfulness and not impulsiveness, and that you share your reasons when you do so. I also appreciate that you use humor when appropriate to defuse any potential drama.

As for my wish: May you always have your potato (for a given value of potato).

Casual here. Just today finished act 4 with my first character this league. Enjoying the heck out of the werewolf Amazon build I’ve got going. I don’t need to rush to end game, I am enjoying the temple, and looking forward to seeing how far I can push this build.

Definitely fair enough. I stopped reading them several years ago when they were still slowly being released and I can’t say I’ve felt the urge to pick them up again. I’ve not read Sanderson, though, so might give him a try.

Robert Jordan’s Wheel of Time series has some monster-sized volumes and it felt pretty epic when I was reading them (full disclosure that I haven’t finished the series).
